  1. Cleaning. :glare: I made big plans for today. But then a certain someone woke up at 3 o'clock to snuggle with mom and dad, making sure to talk our ears off, then fall asleep, kick and turn, finally kicking us out of our bed. The upside - hubby and I got some quality time together (watching Restaurant Impossible and Modern Marvels). :p Downside - I'm exhausted now.
  2. If you like naan, click HERE and HERE. You won't regret it! :w00t: I used their Naan dough recipe from Artisan Pizza and Flatbread in Five Minutes a Day book (p. 88-89).
  3. Whooo-boy. That would send me over the edge. Thankfully no one ever told me that. Yet.
  4. I'm so sorry, Julie. Thinking and praying for you. :grouphug: :grouphug: :grouphug:
  5. THIS with rice and steamed broccoli. Smells good, I'm hoping everyone will like it.
  6. Not exactly a fail, but more of a bummer. Christmas morning. The kids are getting ready to open their presents and the 3 year old starts throwing up. :glare: At first we thought it was from all the excitement, but he kept at it throughout the day. So, I packed the gifts to the extended family, food we're supposed to bring and hubby left with the girls for IL's house to have Christmas dinner. :( The funny thing is that we had the same thing happen on Thanksgiving. All the gifts were a hit though. :D
  7. Oooh! That sounds like fun! Would you mind posting a link?
  8. I don't remember who posted a link to this, but I want to say THANK YOU! My hubby said it's definitely the best Christmas present he ever received. Maybe I should stop looking for "grown-up" presents for him. Thinking of getting him robotics kit next year. :D
  9. 1) How many books did you read this year? 102 2) Did you meet or beat your own personal goal? I didn't really set a goal, just to read and keep track of books. 3) Favorite book of 2012? Yes, you can list more than one and even break it down by genre if you choose. Going Postal by Terry Pratchett - I thoroughly enjoyed this. 4) Least favorite book of 2012 and why? Inkheart by Cornelia Funke. Meh. 5) One book you thought you'd never read and was pleasantly surprised you like it? Confessions of a Prairie Bitch by Alison Angrim. I've never watched the series, but loved the book. 6) One book you thought you'd love but didn't? The Reading Promise by Alice Ozma. 7) One book that touched you - made you laugh, cry, sing or dance. Traveling Mercies by Anne Lamott. 8) Any new to you authors discovered and you can't wait to read more of their stories? Anne Lamott, Terry Pratchett, Brene Brown. 9) Name the longest book you read? Shortest? 10) Name the most unputdownable book you read? The Murder of Rodger Ackroyd by Agatha Christie. I read it in one evening. 11) Book that had the greatest impact on you this year? Not sure. 12) What book would you recommend everybody read? Daring Greatly by Brene Brown. 13) Share your most favorite cover(s) The Year of Living Biblically by A.J. Jacobs. :D 14) Do you have a character you fell in love with? - 15) What was your most favorite part of the challenge? Did you do any of the mini challenges? I loved reading everyone's lists and reviews. They helped me to discover some great authors. 16) What are your goals for the new year? To read more non fiction? To dip your toes into a mystery or a urban fantasy or horror or romance? What book are you most looking forward to reading in 2013? Not sure yet. I'll take on the Canadian authors challenge.
  10. You have my permission. :D A couple of weeks ago I put my uncle into the restricted folder (we're still friends, but he cannot see my posts or pictures).
  11. A whole lot of healing for me this year. It's been incredible. :) Also, my husband's started his own business and (praise the Lord!) it's doing great. We've been so blessed! I can totally relate!
  12. I bought ours off Craigslist. It's being used daily. Not the most attractive thing to have in the house, but it's worth it.
  13. The Murder of Roger Ackroyd by Agatha Christie. A re-read. I have forgotten how much I enjoy her books. :) Miss Peregrine's Home For Peculiar Children by Ransom Riggs. Neat idea, poor execution. I didn't care for his style of writing at all. Currently reading Daring Greatly by Brene Brown. Non-fiction. Love it. Very thought provoking.
  14. After a busy day running errands, I had a very nice and quiet evening painting peg dolls for my kids. :)
  15. I'm in! Thanks to this challenge and weekly threads I have discovered many wonderful books.
  16. Exercise and finding a hobby, something unrelated to the stress source. For me it's Zentangles doodling and polymer clay sculpting. Repeated patterns in zentangles are very soothing for me and just art in general makes me feel in control. Just an idea. :)
