  1. I've finished "Breakfast at Tiffany" and collection of short stories by Truman Capote. I can't believe I've waited for so long to read his books! Masterful writing.
  2. Well, that explains the couple of kids who crashed our birthday party at a park a few years ago. They kept shoving the little kids out of the line to hit a pinata. We had to take them to their parents who were sitting on a bench nearby and watching the whole thing. :confused1:
  3. I have received similar advice a while ago and you know what? It works. Slowly, I started drawing again, exploring different mediums and techniques. Zentangles are my go-to way to zone out and relax. I haven't seen embroidery mentioned. Supplies are cheap, you work at your own pace and it takes very little space. Lately I've started to learn calligraphy too. So much fun!
  4. We let the kids choose and open one present each. Keeps them busy. ;) On Christmas morning they open the rest of their presents, then after dinner, "Secret Santa" exchange with their cousins.
  5. We have a 2000 Dodge Grand Caravan. Still going strong. We had minimal problems with it throughout the years.
  6. PL sets etc. are now available at Michael's. I bought a core package with 40% off coupon and am planning to buy the sleeves next week with another coupon. I'm not a fan of complicated scrapbooking, so this is just right for me. :001_smile:
  7. Congratulations! :hurray:
  8. No advice, but I just wanted to say I am so sorry for your loss. :grouphug: :grouphug: :grouphug:
  9. THIS METHOD Electronic planners don't work for me. This one is very flexible and highly visual. I'm planning one color for each kid, plus another color for combined subjects.
  10. Finished #42 yesterday - "Sober Mercies" by Heather Kopp. Loved it. Funny and heartbreaking at the same time. And very honest. Started "Bittersweet" by Shauna Niequist. Loved her "Bread and Wine" but this one isn't tugging my heartstrings as much. Rest of my books in the signature.
  11. I'll have to take a look again at Winning with Writing. re ARTistic Pursuits - I had the same reaction. ;)
  12. Biotene mouth wash did the trick for me.
  13. I just read the news and found another reader very similar to Google Reader called Snarfer. It's free and runs as an independent program as opposed to in-browser one. All my feeds were imported nicely. So far I like it. HTH!
  14. Thank you so much, everyone! My kids loved getting their valentines. :001_wub:
