  1. Thank you for this VERY informative thread! Alas, there's no Lululemon is located nearby. Bummer.
  2. That was hilarious! Thanks for posting.
  3. Depression can be caused by many things. Being depressed and overweight could be a symptom of an underlaying medical condition. I've been struggling with depression for a long time and I wish someone would encourage me during that time to seek professional help to find what causing all this. Do full bloodwork, check Vit D levels, thyroid, hormones. Meet with a therapist - it's been a tremendous help for me. Do it for YOU, because you worth it. :grouphug:
  4. *faint* Now, that's just mean! :tongue_smilie:
  5. I love the idea of Filofax, and the look, but the prices! :willy_nilly: Are there any similar planners that have different choices of inserts etc for a much, much less? I'm looking for half sheet/A5 size probably. :bigear:
  6. This is really cool! Do you mind sharing links to the printable templates?
  7. If he thinks it's only a spiritual issue, I would recommend this for him :http://www.amazon.com/Steps-Freedom-Christ-Study-Guide/dp/0764213733/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1416096973&sr=8-1&keywords=steps+to+freedom+in+christ+neil+anderson For me, it was a first step in dealing with depression. Then, the other things have followed - diet, exercise, counseling, medications...
  8. I don't. I rather read or create something. Very rarely my husband and I will rent a movie to watch, but it has to be a really good one.
  9. Stacia, just got the books! Thank you so much, it feels like Christmas came early! :hurray:
  10. Speaking of German, here is a little comparison for you all : http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9FXaB-F4pC0 One of my SIL's is Swiss and get teased a lot(very lovingly) in the family about her accent. At the gatherings at least once someone will start talking German gibberish in a very exaggerated fashion. Fortunately, she's such a sweetheart and doesn't get upset at her American hubby and his crazy brothers. :)
  11. I hope you you'll feel better soon, Onceuponatime! :grouphug:
  12. Stacia, if no one asks for Lamberto, I would love to read it. :)
  13. Lately I've been on a ramen noodle soup kick. Saute a clove of garlic in sesame oil, add whatever veggies are in the fridge at the moment (today it was carrots, cremini mushrooms and radishes), saute. Add some green stuff like kale, bok choi etc Add some soy sauce, sirarcha (sp?), ginger juice. Add a few cups of veg stock and bring to boil Add ramen and cook for 5 minutes Add lots of chopped cilantro and green onions before serving
  14. Station Eleven was magnificent, by the way, especially if blending some Shakespeare and classical music into a post-plague narrative sounds good to you. Yes, yes it does! :D Welcome back, MM! I would read it just for the title alone. :) Sounds good!
  15. Robin, thank you for posting the link to this article. I grew up reading these books and it was quite a shock, later on when I moved to US, to realize that they are not original works, but translations/spin-offs etc. Russia Beyond the Headlines article on children's literature and How Dr. Dolittle became Dr. Ayobolit.
  16. No, I haven't. Thanks for the recommendations! :) Thank you! I'll definitely start with these titles. :) Do you mind sharing what you have been doing and what kind of diet? I am newly diagnosed. Oh, wow! I love it! And I agree, he doesn't come across as a "jolly old elf".
  17. Jane, The Ivy Tree sound good! I put it on hold at the library.
  18. Tell us how you REALLY feel, Negin. I know what you mean though. The only thing that saved this book's charm for me is that it's based on Russian fairy tale. As a rule, Russian stories are instead of "they lived happily ever after", it's "they all died gruesome deaths" or "they half-lived in depths of despair". ;) So, if you look from that perspective, it's a pretty good ending.
  19. Wow! That looks so good! I wonder if it would be available for rent later on. As a kid I used to love Gulliver's Travels. :) I'm reading too many books at once again. Not good. Reading Catalyst by Laurie Halse Anderson. It's the one after Speak and some characters make a cameo appearance there. It's nowhere near as good as Speak. Kind of bleh. maybe because I cannot relate to such a driven person. Scouting for some good vegan recipes in Vegan on the Cheap and Main Street Vegan. Adrenal Fatigue Syndrome is an excellent book, full of great advice in a nice simple language, I'm benefiting so much from it already. I loved Middlesex, but the ending has left me cold. Loved the history surrounding her/his grandparents and parents though.
