  1. Never would have taken it that way. We use it with our kids all the time, since they were little. This phrase has been very useful to us, specially when we discuss about playing time (use of electronics vs other activities), eating habits, amount of extra curricular activities etc
  2. Bummer :( Would have been cute for baby to wear it.
  3. Just prayed for your nephew. I hope he's ok
  4. Good luck to your dh!! Glad your ds found what he enjoys.
  5. Oh boy! I hope you figure it out soon. Knowing me? I wouldn't be able to go to sleep til dh figured out what on earth came in 😉
  6. So many options!! Thanks for recipes, tips and bits of wisdom 😊
  7. I have made banana bread only a few times in my life, once recently. It was ok, but not WOW. Not as yummy and moist as the pumpkin bread I buy at the store. Does anyone have a fantastic banana bread recipe? Would you mind sharing?
  8. Just read the article, again, my most deepest condolences for you and your family! Many, many prayers for all of you.
  9. I believe I have watched probably 5-10 mins of this movie? Maybe, not even sure. Not my thing so I turned it off. I have watched some silly and not so great Christmas movies, and I finish them. Can't watch this one.
  10. I am deeply, deeply sorry. I literally just got goosebumps. A lady down the street, same age, passed away about a month ago leaving 5 kids, also in her sleep. It's just beyond sad. Elevating your family in prayer as you all go through this. What a sad tragedy. I am so, so sorry!
  11. Sorry about the waiting for the job ordeal. Glad things are a little better on other areas, and antidepressants are helping. Many prayers for your situation to keep improving!!
  12. The whole thing is ridiculous! Glad it got resolved
  13. No advice here, but just good thoughts. How frustrating!! I hope you can have them fix it
  14. No we haven't and are not planning on it. The only one year dh and I got the flu shot (back in 2008) we both got the flu.
  15. Too bad you can't do experiences, because we'd love to have that instead, but our relatives don't ask. Their grandparents (paternal side) refuse to give more stuff, for bday and Christmas they put money towards college fund. My mom gives them both, sometimes things, sometimes money. When it's money I encourage them to save it. For bdays some friends do ask and don't mind giving cash gifts, which are usually saved for when they see something they really like. I encourage them to give away quickly stuff that they are not using or they don't care for (even if it's brand new). As much as I can we try to involve them in service projects (helping those in need, visiting nursing centers etc) ETA: what about extra curricular activities? Do your kids participate in any? Would family be willing to give gifts towards those?
  16. Our AHG troop does wreaths, and butterbraids. It's timed so butterbraids are delivered before Easter. Lots of people like butterbraids, and they can't be bought anywhere other than through fundraisers ETA: we do wreaths for soldiers who died in battle. We don't make the wreaths
  17. I'd do Mexican rice and refried beans. We cheat with our refried beans, buy them canned and when heating them add milk, cheese, and if I get fancy sauteed onions and garlic. For toppings, what others have mentioned, but not sure someone mentioned shredded cabbage? We love cabbage on ours. To keep tortillas warm, line a dish (hopefully it has a lid) with a cloth napkin or two, place tortillas inside and cover with rest of napkin (fold napkin) and lid. Honestly, we use clean kitchen hand towels (they are thicker) but I do that when it's just us :)
  18. Praying for you all!!! Mine was acting up about a week ago. Not fun :(
  19. Yup!! Our baby (now 2) moved quickly from baby toys into diecast cars, legos etc. Trying to play like his 8 yr old brother maybe? And my 10yr old dd has ALWAYS caught up to her 12yr old sister (which is understandable, they are 17 months apart). But this Christmas we are making an exception and getting something for the 12yr old and 10yr old dd is not getting it yet...she wasn't happy
  20. This is so wonderful!!! There might be a long way for her recovery, but the fact that she has already progressed so much is amazing. Will keep praying for her!!
  21. What a doll!!! Congratulations!!!! So glad you are both doing well!
  22. Glad to hear she's doing a bit better. Hope no one else gets attacked :(
