  1. I use my cc everywhere. It has gotten stolen several times, but the bank deals with it. No way I'd use my debit card.
  2. Just read the thread about Yemen. Sometimes just sharing with the kids and telling them about places like this helps them realize that we are very fortunate. I always tell our kids that having 3 meals a day, snacks, potable water etc should not be taken for granted. There are many folks out there who don't have the most basic needs covered :(
  3. So much poverty in the world!! Praying for Yemen and other countries that are in such dire conditions :(
  4. I had no idea you could post on other people's walls. Yes, it would bug me, very much.
  5. It's hard. We try as much as we can. We volunteer when we can. We constantly talk about it (pretty much on a daily basis), we thank God for our meal before and after. We start our day thanking God for our blessings: good health, home, family, food etc etc. We pray for those who are not as fortunate. We have kids send thank you notes for Christmas, birthdays etc.
  6. Ugh!! Hope you can figure something out while keeping your sanity 😃
  7. That's interesting. Had no idea. Thanks! Now to Google if dogs are ok with them, because we do have a dog ☺
  8. We don't have cats. But just curious...why not with cats?
  9. Thank you all!!! I love the smell of some EOs, so I might try the diffuser thingamaggig.
  10. Something I've been wanting to ask about for a while, but always forget. The essential oils thread reminded me. Do you have a diffuser? What do you use it the most for? (Illness or good smelling house?). Can you use any diffuser with any brand or does each brand have a diffuser and they go together?
  11. We could come up with several different scenarios. Maybe it was a life/death matter for your coworker to visit with her sister, maybe it wasn't. We just don't know. I try, my very best, to go with a "no one knows what goes behind doors" policy. Yes, it is not ideal that folks cancel or don't show up for weddings, and I agree, it is rude to rsvp and not go for a frivolous reason. But, since chances are I don't know all the story behind it, it's as frivolous of me to make a judgement on their behavior. To each their own. If someone RSVPd to a wedding and didn't show up it's their business, not something for me to judge. We can agree to disagree. Not attending a wedding I RSVPd for is not right, and hopefully there was a valid reason behind it. You judging so harshly why or why not they attended is not right either, imo.
  12. Not sure I'd have hosted in hopes of a bunch of strangers attending. And yeah, the "my poor child" attitude doesn't make it any better :(
  13. Not sure what to think of this post? I totally understand your frustration about the wedding ordeal, but I'm not sure you have the right to judge why others made it or not. I have had family literally showing up at my door after decades of not seeing them (as a big SURPRISE!), also this summer got together with a cousin who showed up to visit (no plans, letting us know, anything). Who knows how often your coworker gets to see her sister? And the one who didn't attend the church ceremony? Their call as well. I hope no one changes the way they think about me depending on my attendance (or lack of) to a wedding. I'd hope they apologized to the newly weds, but that's about it. When you host events there's no guarantee everyone will make it
  14. Great series, great game. Happy for Chicago, because ds was rooting for them. Not a sport fan here. We must have some cubs fans around here...we usually don't hear fireworks in November 😊 Kids are heading to bed 🙌🙌🙌.
  15. Lol! This mama is a night owl. This interferes with my quiet time though 😋
  16. We are glued to the TV. I don't care about sports, but ds does. Girls are just reading, they are up because ds is up. Game has to end. Need kids in bed 😄😄
  17. Didn't know about this. Will pray for the family, and for his recovery. How sad!!! :(
  18. Very sad :( Praying for their families and friends, and for their souls.
  19. I read this earlier and have been thinking of you since. Praying today was a much better day!
  20. So sorry! Hope he finds a job soon!
  21. I was trying to post earlier, but my phone wasn't working. I'm so sorry!!! I hope he finds something very soon. There's never a good time for this, but with all the other stuff going on this just adds more stress :( Keeping you in my thoughts and prayers!
