  1. I LOVE my Sony Reader. I have the touch screen model. Not having wi-fi is not big deal to me. I downloaded several books when I first got it, and have easily added a few more here and there. I have not put any books from my library on my Reader yet, but I don't imagine it will be too difficult. I have loaded some Google books easily. I am seriously contemplating a Sony Reader for my son for Christmas. Oh, I love the note taking feature it has. It makes it easy for me to highlight quotes to read to my dh later. :-)
  2. I've had this book since Christmas, but haven't felt brave enough to try it yet. I ordered my container from Amazon, as well as some English Muffin molds. ;-) It should all be here Tuesday. I can't wait to get started!!!!!
  3. I like Syntha-6 by BSN. I'm not sure if it's dairy free though. I just purchased it from Amazon. :-)
  4. FIESTAWARE?????? I love my new Fiestaware. I've had it for about a month now. I picked up my place settings at Kohls. They frequently have great sales. I did order a couple of place settings from zestydishes on-line. I wanted larger mugs than I could get at Kohls. I did break one of the cereal bowls last week. I dropped it when taking it out of the microwave. It shattered. Into lots and lots of pieces. :-( I promptly went to amazon.com and ordered a new bowl. It was here within 2 days. I love the ability to order open stock! My kids unload the dishwasher, and they're not gentle about it. So far, so good. No chips or cracks. :-)
  5. I buy mine from Sam's Club. It's less than $5 for 2 pounches of it. I open one and dump it into a plastic container to store in the fridge. I should probably store the other one in the freezer, but I just shove it into the farrrrr back of my fridge. :p It lasts quite a long time. I don't bake bread everyday, but I do make pizza every week and use yeast in other things a couple of times a week. I think I've bought 2 pkgs. in the last year.
  6. I was finally able to play with my Sony Reader last night. I LOVE it! It was so easy to set up and load with books. :-) I love the fact that I can easily load it with Google's free books too. I'm not sure if you can do that with the Kindle or not. I purchased the touch screen edition. LOVE, LOVE, LOVE it!
  7. What type of container to you use to store the dough in your fridge? Thanks! Angela
  8. Woohoo! I ordered a Sony Reader last week...it still isn't here. Hmph. Dell had a great price, plus I could shop through ebates. Usually I get my orders from Dell within 2 or 3 days. Not this time. Hmph, hmph, hmph. I am getting impatient. It shipped from Ontario. Can you believe it? Ugh. lol. It is supposed to be delivered on Thursday. We're going out of town on Thursday. Guess we won't be leaving until after the UPS man comes. HA! Enjoy your new toy!
  9. Thanks for the replies! I think I've pretty much decided on the Sony. After all, it does come in RED! :tongue_smilie: Now...to convince dh I need it. heehee
  10. I'm thinking about purchasing one. It'll be a frivolous purchase, so we'll see if I can convince my dh to let me buy it. :p I'm specifically looking at the touch version in red. I know it's not wireless, but I don't think I'll mind that so much. Do you have one? Do you love it? Do you wish you had purchased a Nook or a Kindle? Thanks! Angela
  11. Congrats!!!!! I have 2 friends doing the marathon tomorrow. I'm so excited for them!
  12. Ours is just under $150. I think it was $146 this last month. Four phones, unlimited texting, Iphone data plan for one, 700 shared minutes. We do NOT have a land line. We might go back down to 500 minutes, since we don't seem to be using all of our minutes since my bff just got AT&T. Gotta love free mobile to mobile. ;-)
  13. I am in no way ready for school tomorrow. I'm thinking we'll do a light week, then get back into the full swing of things next week. Hey, homeschooling allows us to be flexible, right? HA! ETA: I think the reason I'm not ready is because dh has been home with me forevah!!!!! He's a Drill Sgt., so he usually works 7 days a week. It's sad, but we're used to him not being here. He's been in an Army school since the end of October. That means he came home from PT every morning, plus came home for lunch every day, and was home by 4 or 5 most days. Then, he took 2 weeks off for Christmas. So, our schedule has been topsy turvy for months now. He went back to work today. I want a week to just do nothing. If I wanna sit on the couch and knit all day, then I wanna be able to sit on the couch and knit all day. Does that make me horrible? :ninja: Oh well. One week of light school it'll be.
  14. I'm making tacos for dinner. Later tonight, we're having: The Pioneer Woman's Jalapeno Poppers PW's Potato Skins Buffalo Chicken Dip veggies and dip Oh, for desert we're having Butterfinger Pie. Yumm-o! :-)
  15. I got it for Christmas. I LOVE it! Honestly, it could have been the only thing under the tree for me and I wouldn't have minded. That's how badly I wanted it. lol. I'm making two recipes from it tonight. I can't wait to try them!
  16. I bought my dh a PS3 for Christmas because it plays Blu-Rays and can stream Netflix. We haven't tried streaming yet, but hope to soon. We have an Xbox too. We have watched Netflix movies through that. However, you do have to pay a yearly (or monthly) fee to have an online subscription with the Xbox. There is no subscription fee for the PS3.
  17. My dh is a Drill Sgt. in the Army! One more year of Drill duty, then he'll go back to his regularly scheduled programming. :p We've been Army for 13 years! Seven more to go until retirement! Yahoo! It's been a fabulous ride, but I think by time the next 7 years go by, we'll be ready for it to end.
  18. We just did this a few hours ago...clear bulbs from Michaels, etc. Put a few drops of Pledge floor cleaner inside them, swirl around, dump out the excess. Add some glitter, put the top back on and shake around. Very pretty, easy and relatively inexpensive! You can dress them up anyway you choose. We used my littlest dd's handprint in white, then we're going to dress the "fingers" as snowmen using sharpies. I wish I had picked up more bulbs, as they're so pretty! They were 50% off, so pretty cheap. If I make it to town this week, I told the kids I'll pick up some more. We are sending them to family members for gifts, but they want to make some for our tree as well!
  19. I have to give my dh VERY specific lists as well. I don't really mind...atleast I know I'm getting something I want. lol. Every once in a while, he'll surprise me...his surprises are usually fabulous. When I make the list, I include the place to purchase it, or a link, and the price. That helps him plan out his shopping budget a bit more. :p He won't do gift cards for me either. Or clothes...I want new clothes...he told me to buy them myself. HA!
  20. I have had my GE front-loading set for almost a year now. I LOVE them. I've never had any issues with smells or anything like that. I do have a sanitize cycle, I use that cycle for my towels. Works like a charm. :-) Oh, and they're red. Yumm-o. HA!
  21. Breakfast punch? Please share the recipe. :-) Christmas brunch sounds like a great idea. I'll have to mention it to dh to see what he thinks. I would just add muffins and fresh fruit. I think that would be plenty.
  22. Leapsters were a waste of money here. We have two, but neither of the kids they were bought for really cared a hill of beans about them. Of course, they did have older siblings with DSs, so maybe that was part of it? I do think my 5 year old would enjoy a Leapster much more than the others did, but who knows. She's cut from a different mold than they were. ;-)
  23. I have the 5qt. Professional Model. That's a fabulous price! Go for it! :-)
