DD got a message from Amazon that "The Complete Harry Potter Collection" (Kindle Edition) is available on Amazon for 99 cents. We are trying to buy it, but when we click on "Buy at Pottermore" the price is incredibly high. I made screen shots of 2 pages on Amazon, showing the $0.99 price. Question: How can I contact Amazon Customer Service, for help in purchasing this at the advertised price of 99 cents? https://www.amazon.com/Complete-Harry-Potter-Collection-ebook/dp/B005CRP9IE/ref=sr_1_1?s=digital-text&ie=UTF8&qid=1470834973&sr=1-1&keywords=the+complete+harry+potter+collection#nav-subnav TIA! Lanny

Hi there My youngest son is special needs and almost 11. He's finally able to remember most sounds of the alphabet and is interested in reading. Now that we're at lesson 34, he's really struggling. Has anyone found any specific apps that really help with OPGTR? I'm really trying not to panic, but I feel like I'm running out of time with him.

We just got a kindle fire. What are your favorite educational apps (or productivity apps!) for the kindle?

My father is giving Kindle Fires to my three younger children. I really have no idea what to do once they get here. Please help... Do they need cases? Do I need to link them to their own account and do we need prime. Will I be able to really use these for school? Is is hard to use the whisper sync ? I can do something with PDF files? Have I forgotten anything? Thanks!!

Kindles are 15% off today with the promo code ThnksFAA Wanted to share because I've seen people post in the past asking about Kindle sales. I'm debating whether or not I really need another kindle... http://www.amazon.com/

Somehow 'nansk's Kindle' seemed boring. I just renamed mine 'Tardis' - small on the outside, big on the inside. And are there other devices where you can do this? If you have some other device with a clever name, do share. :)

My daughter and I both received gift cards for Amazon. I have a Kindle and want to buy books for my Kindle. Since the Kindle purchases only use 1-Click, how can I use the gift cards to make Kindle purchases? I entered the code for one gift card onto my account and it put it on my balance. But it doesn't show anywhere. I don't want to buy another book only to have it go to my credit card on 1-click. Can you school this noob on the ins and outs of kindle purchases?

What do you think is the easiest kindle font to read? I'm specifically wondering about this for a 7 year old.

So, dd is really wanting us to get an e-reader to take on trips (or to have instantaneous reading material when we don't get out to the library.) She would like me to get a Kindle Fire, but I prefer the e-ink - easier on the eyes in all types of light. Also, if I get a tablet, I want one with a decent camera - mostly to take video of dd climbing. I do take video with my phone, but I am often so intent on watching her and cheering her on that I forget to keep her in frame :glare: . But, I don't want to spend a ton of money (one kid in college, another one going in a year, you know ... priorities.) So, does anyone have a recommendation for a decent tablet with a decent camera (rear mostly but a front camera for skype would be nice) that won't cost more that ds' college textbook budget?

This morning, dh reminded me that I didn't get anything for my birthday last week and asked what I'd like. The only thing I can really think of is a dedicated ebook reader. Right now, I read ebooks on my phone (occasionally), a Kindle Fire dh abandoned for a new tablet, or my iPod (rarely used for reading since I got the Fire). Although each device works as an ereader, I'm starting to think I'd like something that is *just* an ereader. The phone and iPod screens seem too small now, but the Fire is heavy and since I use it many times daily it always needs charging. Another problem with the Fire is that there is no way to organize books into collections - my library is large, and is a horrible jumble. So I'm thinking of asking for an ereader, but I'm stumped on which one. I know dh would be much happier if I figured out myself which one I want. Right now I'm leaning towards the Paperwhite, mostly because you can use it in dim light without needing an external light source. The other one I'm looking at is the Kindle Keyboard, partly because I like making notes as I read and partly because of a special offer ($100 off if you sign up for a year of Audible, which is something I was considering anyways). I'd love to hear from people who have used either model, and am especially interested in hearing about anything you find annoying about your ereader. I'd also like to know how easy it is to transfer your own files onto the device. I have a lot of epub books that I read on the Fire using Aldiko, and would want to convert those to a Kindle-friendly format and move them onto the device.

I see the Honey For a Child's Heart Kindle edition is marked as 2010. Does anyone know if it it actually different than the printed version marked 2002? Thanks!

I'm debating a big issue. I have a 5 year old, 2 1/2 year old and 13 month old, plus one on the way. They love books!! But little hands are quickly ripping and ruining our collection. They love iBooks and kindle books. What are your thoughts on going mostly digital for children's books? I'm tired of throwing real ones away!

I just found a neat new tool for my Kindle! You may or may not know that you can organise your ebooks into collections on the Kindle (I'm talking about the actual Kindle, not a Kindle app). But it's a pain, if you don't have access to a keyboard. So I googled, and found The Kindle Collection Manager (Windows only) http://www.kindlecollectionmanager.com/ My favourite way is to 1. plug the Kindle into my computer with the cable. 2. access the hard disk on the Kindle 3. create folders under the documents folder I have fiction, references, how to, technical, biographies, etc and with many subfolders. 4. Click the One Touch Synch. And voilà . Neat little collections on my Kindle!! Woohoo! I'm happy!

My Kindle has started to act funny. It's working fine, but some features are no longer there. I tried to activate Social Networks, and only Twitter is offered, Facebook has disappeared. On top of that Twitter is not even working, as in I can't configure it. The Twitter page that it"s trying to load fails and Kindle says "Your Kindle is unable to load the requested page" . However the experimental web browser works just fine, so it's not an internet connection problem. Second weird problem, if I get a book A on Amazon.com, and I send it to my Kindle, I get it just fine. If I get book B and send it to my iPad, that's also ok. Now, from my iPad, I can request book A, but I cannot request book B from the Kindle. it just doesn't show up. The iPad, the Android, the mac and Pc will show me all books I have in my cloud, but not the Kindle. I'm running the latest version of the OS, I've restarted the Kindle. Still no go. Anyone?

I was organizing my Kindle and it got me thinking, what are some of your favorite free Kindle books? Especially ones that most people haven't heard of (so not like obvious classics like Pride and Prejudice or something). I'll start. I really enjoyed Letters of a Woman Homesteader. Her writing style and the time in which she lived are really interesting. I enjoyed it a lot. For a newer book, I enjoyed Roam which is $.99 right now but is often available for free (and it is free to borrow with Prime). What are your favorites?

I am seriously considering the cheapest kindle for my 10 year old daughter. My question is about the amazon accounts. She has an account that she created one time to buy something from a gift card that someone gave her. I have an account that has amazon prime on it. I have since added her account to my amazon prime. Our financial info is not attached to her account and she's only used it 1 time. I'm a little confused about the amazon account I should set this up with. I'm thinking she'll have more options if she uses my account but maybe she can use her account. I'm just thinking trying to get this straight in my own mind. If a few years go by and we decide to upgrade to a fire (or equivalent) and then she graduates high school will we be able to switch her stuff to her own account or is that not an option. I'm just trying to understand. Thanks,

So, I am about to order a Kindle Touch. Do I want this skin. this cover, or this sleeve? The sleeve seems to provide protection when transporting or storing the Kindle, but allows you to use the Kindle as is. The cover might give better protection, but it seems like it would get in the way when you are trying to read. I am not sure what the purpose of the skin is. Any thoughts? Also, is there a cheaper place to find such things?

Does anyone have any experiences they could share about these 2 similar curricula? A2 almost seems to be a more robust version of RC; however, RC won a lot of reader awards last year. Hmmm...:confused1: By the way, I am new. This is my first post. Be gentle! Katie
