  1. They have this crock-pot at Walmart for a few bucks cheaper. I put it on my Christmas list...until I saw the GE cooltouch model they carry for $40. I'm hoping that's the one dh gets for me, but it's been out of stock. If he can't find it, the HB one is what I told him to get. Hopefully someone has some good input for you. :-)
  2. Oh my...these are beaufitul! My dd13 wants to make them. I am guessing you painted the blue icing on with a basting brush, but what about the white icing? What did you use to pipe it on? Thanks!
  3. Oh, I don't think you're slow. I haven't run an official 5K yet, but I'm slower than you. I would be thrilled if I could finish in your pace. lol. As for a watch, I'm planning to get a Garmin 305. It's a bit spendy, so dh and I will share one for a bit to make sure we really like it. I did borrow a friends for a couple of months, and did love it. ;-)
  4. Oh, I am jealous. I want to put our tree up so badly. Dh said I could if I wanted to. However, our living room in this house is small. I know I'll be sick of it by Christmas. lol. So, I'm waiting. You can sure bet it'll be up the day after Thanksgiving though. I have just about finished shopping. I may dig out some of my indoor holiday decorations this weekend. ;-)
  5. I have used Pampered Chef stones for years. LOVE them. In fact, I just bought another one a couple of weeks ago. I had taken it out of the oven and set it on top of a burner I had just turned off. I wouldn't recommend that...it cracked. :-( It was one of my original stones though...probably 10 years old? Well worth it. LOVE my PC stones. :-)
  6. On, no, there isn't a limit. OUR limit is 3, 'cause that's all we can afford. Sorry for the confusion.
  7. This is the first time we've been members of a church that participates in this program. We're so excited! I think we can only fill 3 boxes, but I'm grateful for the opportunity to fill any. Please, share what you've filled them with. I need ideas. :-)
  8. Congrats! I'm nearly finished. I have a few more things to get, then I'm done. I'm going to wait though because I know Amazon usually does a sale on board games before Christmas. That's all I have left to get. That and a couple of Lego sets. :-) I haven't even thought about Christmas cards yet. You're good. :tongue_smilie:
  9. I have been looking for these for weeks now. I did see them at Walmart once. But, I had some of the little kids with me, so I couldn't get them. Hmph. I won't pay more than what Walmart is charging for them though. Although, etoys is charging less than what some Amazon sellers are charging!
  10. My son had his appendix removed two weeks ago on Monday, although his was an actual incision, versus being done lap. He went back to school on Tuesday. He did really well pain wise, but he was exhausted when he got home. I think he napped every day this week! He did lose about 15 pounds, even though he was thin to begin with. After all of the vomiting he did, he had a difficult time getting his appetite back. As for activities, he hasn't done much as of yet. He did kick a soccer ball around with one of his siblings this afternoon, but that's it. I know he said he felt really strange yesterday when he laid down...something about feeling like the incision area was really tight? I know he's also still sore to the touch. Sorry I'm probably not much help. lol. Our doctor told us no sports for 2 weeks, for 2 weeks after that, he can do activities at his own pace. I hope your son is feeling better!
  11. Hmmmm....well, I don't normally like to travel at Christmas. However, I have done a Christmas without my dh. Actually, 2 of them, both times he was deployed. They're no fun. I hated it. I was so emotional, yet I had to keep it in check for the kids, you know? That being said, I would probably go ahead and do it, since I didn't have to pay for my own tickets. I have a mother-in-law who is difficult to be around...I would still do it. I have to say, I am insanely jealous...I LOVED Alaska. We've been trying to get back there for years now, the Army keeps saying no. My best friend lives in North Pole. One of these days, I'll get back there. :-)
  12. I love the Sookie books. I don't love the TV series True Blood as much as the books, but I do enjoy it. I wouldn't let my kids watch it nor read the books by any means, but they are quite enjoyable to me. :-)
  13. Yup, I just had to wait until I saved enough $$$. lol. So far, so good....she just puts in the disk and goes! I've had to help her a couple of times, but she's done great! I hope it continues this way. :p
  14. It certainly is "easier." lol. I'll be getting it for my 8th grader as soon as she finished Life of Fred. After years and years of struggling through BJU, I'm so glad I finally found something that works for my 5th grader. So very glad.....
  15. She finished lesson 10 this morning. So, I do realize she hasn't completed a whole lot of it yet. But, she LOVES it! Best of all? She's getting GREAT marks! She got one 80%, the rest have all be 90% or above. I so hope it continues this way. lol
  16. Yes, that is the one in the link. Don't hate on me, but my kids don't care for Playmobil stuff. I think it's way too spendy too. Ducks head and runs.........
  17. My 5 year old is asking for this. We already have the Loving Family doll house, albeit a much older model. :p I'm thinking about getting the Castle for her for Christmas. Do you think it's too "young" for her? Thanks!
  18. We have decided to always get our tires from Walmart from now on. If we have issues with a warranty, like we did our last set of tires, atleast there is a Walmart in nearly every town. lol.
  19. I've got my list going. I ordered a couple of small things already and shoved them in my closet. I'm actually going to be doing a large portion of the shopping within the next month or so. Last year, we traveled for Christmas because we moved on Dec. 23rd. The year before, dh was in Iraq. I am sooooo looking forward to a "normal" Christmas in our own house. I want to have most of the shopping done before we even get to December. That way, we can focus on doing things together, rather than the shopping! :-) I need some ideas for a 13 year old girl. She does have an Ipod and a Nintendo DS already. Any ideas? My 15 year old boy is so much easier to shop for than her. :p
  20. I run 4-5 days per week. Today should have been a run day, but I didn't get to it. Mondays and Wednesdays I am taking a class at the local community college. I have to be running by 7, or I don't have enough time to get ready. Today, I had to run to dh's work before I went to school, so I didn't have enough time. I may run tonight. If not, tomorrow for sure. I love running in the cooler temps!
  21. I live about 45 minutes from Louisville. It's a pretty fun city! We love the Louisville Zoo! There is also a science museum, but we haven't been yet. We have done the Cinci. zoo as well. Fun, fun, fun! We stayed in Mason, OH at Great Wolf Lodge. It's just a few minutes from Cinc. :-)
  22. I have a Dell. I love it. My desktop is a Dell as well. I haven't had any issues with it at all. When the time comes to get a laptop for my ds, Dell is the way we will go.
