  1. In crisis, for example job loss. I get emotional and react on feeling but get the job done. DH wants to wait and research but doesnt always get the job done. Thats not to say he doesnt try but 90% of the time in an OMG situation, my gut feeling works out.
  2. Thats good to know- thanks :) We JUST started ETC for my 1st/2nd grader. She is finishing ETC 1 and BTC 1. She is breezing through it and could be on ETC 2 but i only let her do 2pages a day.
  3. I like to POAS too, but stupid PCOS makes OPK frustrating for me. :glare:
  4. with the SMEP (Sperm Meets Egg Plan). She could do that this cycle, she could still use OPK but she could just baby dance the days the plan says: "Try" every other night starting Day 8 Buy 10 ovulation predictor kit sticks Begin ovulation testing on Day 10 When test is positive, "try" that night, plus two additional nights in a row Skip one night, then do one last "try" Take a home pregnancy test 15 days after your ovulation test was positive, if your period has not begun If your ovulation test never goes positive, continue "trying" every other night until Day 35, then do a pregnancy test if your period has not begun. so shed "Try" 8,10,12, 14, 16 (if this was O), 17, and 18, then 20.
  5. I did this. When we lived in our last apartment. I literally threw things out the window and paid someone to take them to the dumpster!
  6. DH gets 2 paid hours off work so i can vote, so nope the kids will stay with him! Hes not voting. :glare:
  7. We live in a 2bdrm apartment and have 3 kids so IF i wanted all 3 of them in the same room (which i CANT do because they will literally stay up all night) id keep the bunk bed and get a twin or toddler bed and put it in the room. I have the same bunk bed you do with twin on top and full on bottom. Why not just keep it? I know we could fit a twin bed with it, but it might be tight (thus why i could use a toddler bed too but i have a 4yr old who could fit in it). Maybe instead of another twin bed you could use a sofa bed or futon?
  8. I have a 10 drawer cart from walmart for our workbox system. Each subject has a drawer/bin. I have a little picture on each drawer to C knows what subject it is. I keep her text book or workbook in the box, thats it. I dont fill it or change it. She pulls out her box and then i tell her " do page 20 " and then when shes done, she velcros a DONE sticker on the front of the bin. She has the same subjects every day, except Music, Health, Science and Art. Those she only has a few days a week but they still have bins. Here is our set up on our blog.
  9. taking your temp doesnt have to take months either- even if she did it 3mo, she could learn her cycles. For example many women believe they have a 28d cycle and O on cd14. BUT you can have a 28d and O on cd 12 and miss O because you didnt have TeA until cd14. Same as you can think cd14 and not O until cd16 and miss it too early. Temping can help her learn her body. why waste money on OPKs when temping is FREE. You dont have to even use a site like Fertilityfriend.com or TCOYF.com to track it- a pc of paper will tell you to.
  10. i didnt do the junk drawer- im following a bit of a different schedule. Today I did: organized the kids closet took 1/2 of the hallway closet to storage threw out the falling apart chair in the living room picked up the bathroom freecycles the old dishes Tomorrow: Re-arrange living room Go through my closet/hang my clothes take rest of hall closet and my closet to storage :)
  11. I would find a church that has both to offer- better for you AND your children. youll just have to keep looking. :grouphug:
  12. I know i didnt and wouldnt put an apartment or house over my childrens safety but as i stated in my first post in this thread- You HAVE to take responsibility too, you cant seriously live in fear 24/7 and never let your kids outside or freak out about your neighbors, you have to TEACH your children what to look for and do in these situations.
  13. at our old apartment, it was less than 1mi from the school and the police wouldnt do anything about it, it was up to the landlord- thats why i was told one time when i called to find out because i thought OH had the same law?!
  14. compared to what i have heard about the Bodies Exhibit- id go to this over that, but only because IM not sure if id be into seeing a body that way.
  15. yeah but if the Realtor openly says " here is the beautiful updated kitchen, oh by the way theres a SO next door"- who would buy the house? They make money off selling the house.
  16. Dh looks better with a beard. I HATE his gotea (not spelled right sorry) thing though. Ugh.
  17. I didnt say anything recently but someone else did to me! I was at Wendys getting lunch and there was an older guy in front of me in line (maybe 60-70?) and he kept telling me to go ahead of him and I kept telling him no. Anyway, so then we got to chit chatting because the line was long and he asked me " What grade of school are you in ?" I said " Actually, I graduated in 2004, so im not in school ". He didnt say a single peep after that.
  18. If i had to guess the "joking" was because Lice are like a right of passage in PS these days. :001_rolleyes: I dont know a preventative but id hope theyd send a note home at least to say theres an outbreak so you can properly treat if need be!
  19. When we lived in the last apartment (our 1bdrm) it was open to anyone and everyone who had money. The landlord didnt do a background check of any kind on anyone. We had FOUR Sex Offenders living in the 40 unit building. 1 lived across the hall from me (and he has his wife and children living with him and his wife babysat other kids in the building). Here is my opinion.... Would I move back there or move in that house youre looking at? IF i had to, yes or if it was perfect circumstances other wise? yes. However, it is MY responsibility to keep an eye on my children. Thats not to belittle anyone who has been abused by a sex offender- PLEASE DONT TAKE IT THAT WAY....im saying i never, ever let my children play outside at the apartment and if i lived in the house your looking at, i would make sure i knew the friends they played with and they had a buddy system for walking back and forth to their house and mine + what to do in an emergency situation. I would definitely go ask the Sheriff and do your research but you have to look out for your children too. :grouphug: and again, i mean NO offense to anyone.
  20. I thought JAWM was "Just A Whiny Mom" (i really did think it meant that, lol)
  21. Well today i organized the kids room (cleaned their closet and got a new toybox) and i tacked the bathroom for its basic cleaning. tomorrow Im thinking ill take on my bedroom- clearing out my closet and the china cabinet and hanging up my clothes....which then means I have to do the living room because i need to move the china cabinet to the living room and I cant if i dont throw away the wardrobe.
  22. I went at about 10am and made it out about 1pm. Some notes: 1) IKEA Bistro upstairs does NOT take a giftcard- had to pay OOP. 2) The lines throughout were not bad but checkout was CRAZY. 3) "Home Organization" was being remodeled so i couldnt get the bins/baskets i thought i wanted. :( 4) The actual items were bigger/smaller than in the catalog (ex: the rail was shorter than i expected (and yes i read the measurements). 5) The rails do NOT come with screws. ------------------------------------------- Now for what I got!! Spent $78 2 pillows from the AS IS dpt 4 glasses from the AS IS dpt (i think they are actually vases but they look cool) 1 blue IKEA bag (had one but forgot it!) Pruta Food Saver containers Bygel Rail x3 Bygel Wire Basket Bygel Container Bygel S Hooks (10pk) Bygel Dish Drainer 4 Dinera Plates (brown rectangle ones) 4 Dinera Bowls (brown shallow ones) 4 Dinera plates (small brown saucer type ones) Rationell Plastic Drawer Divider Rationell plastic bag holder from AS IS dpt i think thats it. I have $38 left and Im going to save it til Taxes. I didnt get as much as i thought, but it will help in the kitchen at least. We didnt need plates or pillows but i couldnt pass up the plates and the pillow prices!
