  1. The good thing is you can't get that look on accident.:)
  2. Does my butt look big in these pants? Not big enough! I've seen some of that too and don't get it either. It does seem to go beyond just toned and shapely to me but I'm not into the uber toned look anyway.
  3. We sleep together in our California King. When the babies were in our bed we were prevented from actually touching/snuggling most of the time but now that phase is over and I like to have our feet touch at least. We get a bit of snuggling but my dh can't fall asleep that way. He finds me to hot to be that close too, literally I mean, lol, he says I radiate heat. I don't know why I'm always cold then. :D
  4. :grouphug: Because with my 20/20 hindsight :) I see no other reason why my life would be what it is now if it wasn't for Him loving me and saving me (in the broad sense IYKWIM) long before I ever knew Him. I love because He first loved me. I've had several turns in my life that just couldn't be anything but divine intervention.
  5. 21 F at 2:45 pm. It is also bright, beautiful and sunny and I had a lovely walk/jog with my puppy.:)
  6. I can't really explain why I dress up but I have since I became a Christian at 30 and I always (well 99% of the time) wear a dress or skirt. I just don't feel right going casual but it doesn't bother me one bit that others do. All of the churches I've attended have had a mix with many in jeans and some dressed up. So I certainly don't think you have to, be yourself or some small compromise.:)
  7. Shockingly fast. My 3rd was 8 hours and my 4th 3 hours, very surprising and the midwife nearly missed it. I was very shocked and scared when my water broke and I wanted to push! :scared: I was trying with all the power of my being not to push, which was interesting, lol. I gave up on that about the time my midwife pulled in the driveway and my lovely daughter was born 5 minutes later. My advice is don't delay going to the hospital or calling your midwife when the time comes. And good luck you're very close!:)
  8. There is one I blocked here and that was exactly how I did it.:)
  9. Not picking on you or others that feel the same, I used to feel the same.:) But regarding your first sentence I would say that public ritual bolsters my private relationship with Christ. For me there is something very powerful about participating in the cycle of the church year in my faith community. The next sentence I would also disagree, I don't think it's an either/or I think it's a both/and. I'm also going to agree with some other posters in that the Christian faith has its own wonderful cycle of feasts/fast/rituals etc and we don't need to co-opt others, there is more than enough there already.:)
  10. Salmon Cheese Ball Artichoke Garlic Dip Bacon Wrapped Mushrooms Pretty Pickles (corny made up name, ham deli meat spread with cream cheese and wrapped around a pickle) Deviled Eggs Chex Mix Pomegranate Punch Egg Nog :D
  11. Last time we were at my FIL's he was talking about getting meat from the meat truck. I thought of the Hive and tried not to wonder about my dinner. :scared:
  12. I've got to say I think it's the funniest thing ever. I never heard of the *correct* way to hang tp until I was in my 20s and I heard it on the radio or something and I was thinking, "seriously?!?". Baffling. :confused1: I put it on the spinney thing and don't even pay attention, not even now after hearing about it. I'm sure sometimes it's over and sometimes it under and I truly never notice. If someone switched it at my house I'd be clueless. :D And no, I never change anything at another person's house.
  13. We drive an hour and forty-five minutes.:)
  14. We have one of those cast off slides in our backyard! Kids love it, even grown-ups think it's fun. Our slide goes both ways.:D
  15. I have said that we were planning on stopping once we had an ugly one. :tongue_smilie:
  16. We're doing less and I'm not yet doing a lot of Christmas prep either. Oops. I'm really in a funk about starting on time.
  17. No, I don't and I'm a really bad wife because I do get up with him at about 5:30 (I like some time with the house quiet in the morning) and I sit at the table drinking my coffee and visit him while he makes his breakfast and lunch. :D It is easier that way but dh eats breakfast way earlier than everyone else (I don't eat until later either). I usually just don't want to cook more than once a day (dinner). Those who can't cook and clean up their mess get yogurt, cereal, bagel, pb toast, etc. When I am inspired to cook a hot meal on a week day, then yes, we do all eat the same thing. I do often make a big family breakfast on a Saturday. :) Everyone old enough to not need my help also makes their own lunch.
  18. The only thing I don't like is that they usually buy a treat food that I don't buy either due to ingredients or cost, Goldfish and Cheeze-Its come to mind, (hmm...I think they like cheesy crackers) and the tempting foods are on the counter or in the cupboard and the rest of the kids want some too and I have to say, "no, that's so and so's". I don't consider it a sharing issue either, I don't really think it would be fair to for them to buy themselves a treat only to have four younger siblings eat it all. Besides that issue though I have no problem with them buying food and keeping it in the kitchen, anyone is welcome to buy foods they would like to eat, especially foods that don't fit in my budget.
  19. A lot of you gave an orange/mandarin/clemintine. What is the significance of this? It must be part of St. Nicholas's tradition somehow but I don't think I've heard of it.:) Justamouse, what is St. Nicholas soup?
  20. Joyous Feast! I didn't do so good this year! I didn't get gold coins, or anything really. The kids have some quarters and some peices of a chocolate orange in their shoes. So they don't have chocolate coins but they do have chocolate and coins. :tongue_smilie: This Sunday my kids are doing a St. Nicholas skit at church and we will be celebrating (belatedly) our parish's feast day.:)
  21. I have the fall stuff down but not put away. ;) I am purposefully delaying though; I will decorate slowly through Advent and leave everything up at least through Epiphany. We used to decorate the day after Thanksgiving but I am enjoying this down time between holidays. An tradition I started some years ago was slowly adding to the Navitity scene; for the first couple of weeks it's just a stable and shepard, a couple of days before Christmas Mary and Joseph show up, Christ Christmas morning and the Wise Men a few days later.:D
  22. 74 :blushing: I'm just right in my jogging pants and hoodie.:)
  23. That is why I do it. It seems better to me than adding a new post just to say, "I agree".
  24. I print it because I want the color. Last I knew the workbooks were only B&W. If we get an iPad (I think for Christmas) we'll go that route.:)
