  1. I am so sorry. I will be praying for you and your family. Blessings.
  2. What you say makes a lot of sense. I have found this to be true for some of the other doctrines that stumped me at first. And now upon reflection they aren't an issue anymore. *I think I finally got the hang of the quote option.
  3. I don't believe that Catholics 'worship' Mary. I think it's just hard to have that kind relationship with her when it has always been taboo to do so. It still feels unnatural for me. I appreciate your reply. .
  4. Good morning- I'd love to ask this q. on FB but I don't have an account. I have been reading so many great books and reading many testimonies that have me nodding my head in agreement. BUT. I keep bumping into Mary. I think she's wonderful and certainly deserves more credit than the Protestant Church gives her. It's the Marian adoration that troubles me. Are there any books or advice you could give. I know that this is not uncommon, nor do I mean to be controversial. It's just where I seem to get stuck.I'm happy to pursue this offline if someone prefers.
  5. Forgive me again! for not doing the quote thingy right. I promise not to use it anymore until I learn. I just wanted to add that I love the Journey Home. It is very assuring to hear testimonies from others who have experienced the same things. It can be VERY lonely at first.
  6. And apparently I don't know how to use the quote function. :glare:
  7. I sent you a PM. I'm at the beginning of this journey.
  8. "Will you be received into the church this Easter Vigil?" No, I haven't taken RCIA yet. I want to but I think I have to wait til Aug./Sept. when it starts up again. Thanks for all the answers!
  9. Hello all- I'm very sorry for the news about Pope Benedict. I was stunned when I read the headlines this morning. I hope you don't mind my asking an off topic question... I have been exploring Catholism since the Fall and though I can't participate in the eucharist I've been attending mass regularly; which has been lovely though unexpected for me (I come from a born again/non-denominationall background). Anyhow, I'm wondering with Ash Wed. coming up if I am able to participate in receiving the ashes. And is it done at the ame time as going up to receive communion or is it separate? I'd love to know more of what to expect. Thanks!
  10. Thanks everyone for taking time to answer! I find it interesting that the majority of you attend a church that is fairly close. That certainly would be the ideal.
  11. I'm just wondering how far you travel to your church. We live in the country and are at least 30-40 minutes from any good churches. I'm just curious how far you travel. Thanks!
  12. Anyone have one they can share? PM me. Thanks! Rain :)
