  1. We printed in color-draft mode. This way we could still see the color coding for some problems.
  2. The fact that I have a piece of paper is still good, but most of the technology I learned to implement my degree skill set is obsolete. I would need to retrain in current tech trends to use my degree skillset again.
  3. Holding you in the light and sending all the virtual hugs and support that I can. I am so sorry for your loss.
  4. I'm interested in what others have to say. We tried it some time ago, and my husband hated it. I was frustrated trying to fix things if we got off track with the software.
  5. You can organize a transcript by subject instead of year. Maybe that would help?
  6. My husband and two sons have ADHD. This sounds like life on a daily basis. It's hard. Especially for my husband, who wasn't diagnosed until he was an adult and didn't have a lifetime of practice how to manage ADHD. My kids do a bit better. HUGS to you, it is HARD!
  7. Once it's all cleaned out, running an ozone machine in it one more time might be ideal.
  8. I know a couple of people who took their kids to the movie, not knowing about this. They were horrified. It really is not okay.
  9. I agree, but it will turn off all the little standby lights and such.
  10. If the new box doesn't work out, you could pick up an outlet timer that shuts power off at the outlet so the blue light can't be on either.
  11. I’m not the exact parent I planned to be. I had to adjust my plan to parent the kids I have. Over all, I like the parent I am. I made some early choices I wish I hadn’t, but I learned and did better.
  12. I order Biore Watery Essence sunscreen off Amazon from Japan for my face. It’s non greasy and absorbs in. I also have a sun hat and try to shield my skin. I didn’t always but have started too and it helps.
  13. Invite them. We chose to invite a number of people who likely wouldn’t attend, because we thought they would still like to feel included.
  14. As the thoughts and prayers flood my facebook feed, I am thankful for the religious who choose to take action towards preventing future tragedies.
  15. I am someone who would be fine with a complete ban. The majority of individuals in this country do not need guns, they want them. I would still expect there to be exceptions for those with a demonstrable need. That is common sense. Having said the above, I am happy with better gun control vs. a full on ban. There are a variety of steps, if also enforced, that could help even if nothing will completely eliminate gun violence.
  16. Acne Free face wash- it’s only 2.5% benzoyl peroxide so it doesn’t irritate young acne prone skin as much. Available at target or drug store. Thayers Witch Hazel is good as a toner to wipe skin down and freshen it up. It’s alcohol free so also less irritating. A new product my guys use are pimple patches. Small hydrocolloid dots you put the pimple. You can use at bed time or during the day. Leave on for 8 hrs or so. My my guys best prevention results are the Acne Free face wash every night and clean pillow cases often.
  17. They make the house smell nice. That is all.
  18. Mom, Dad, did you know? Yep I knew it came with (rare) risks. But cancer sucks a$$. So we went with some cancer prevention. HPV article in Forbes Skeptical Raptor post about HPV vaccine with further links. Recent BBC article about HPV vaccine
  19. I will try to remember to check my EHE set in the morning. I think I still have almost a full set from that version. We just moved so I'll have to find the right box!
  20. It’s not a class thing. I’ve seen most classes use colorful words with regularity. The judgement of a persons use of colorful words does seem to be class based. I grew up hearing a variety of colorful language all over the place. I’m glad derogatory and prejudicicial words are unacceptable. But I have no issue with an otherwise colorful vocabulary. I find the idea of signaling out “bad” words a bit ridiculous.
  21. Oldest is taking Calc B/C. He seems ready. He’s not done any AP exams before.
  22. I like screens, and love using screen based learning options. However, I do not like the trend for all learning to be screen based. We've used screen based curriculum such as Time4Learning, for short periods of time where we couldn't do a more eclectic mix of options. I plan to use some screen based options if ds15 and I get to travel next year, as hauling books everywhere isn't practical.
