I'm further north in Florida. Our humidity at 8pm is 69%. Now I'm curious too as to what it is during the heat of the day. Usually I ignore all the numbers they throw at me because they always amount to the same hot, very, very hot day after scorching day.

Maybe on the bottom of a pile? Someone laid the books down and then someone laid other things on top. My top vote is for the car too or a bag. Did you go anywhere else that day that might have involved bags, such as shopping bags or a pool bag, so you slipped the books into it to make them easier to carry? Under beds? Have you made the kids look? You never know what they'll dig up from their lower level searching.

Does anyone have any experience with these? Our fans are over 30 years old so it's been a long time since I've needed to choose new ones. I'm specifically looking for the fans with integrated LED lights for my sewing/craft room since the lights, especially on the fans I'm looking at, are whiter and brighter. Big plus for me since that room doesn't have a lot of natural light, however I'm worried about their longevity. If I can't replace the light, then I'm going to need to replace the fan and if that means a new fan in 5 years, then no thank you. If I can get another 30 years out of one, then I'm absolutely on board and excited to try one.

I actually just saw a car yesterday with the identity of the driver as a furry displayed on the back window. -

Ours usually is dragging his away from us so he can have the whole thing for himself and not have to do fancy tricks to catch it. Poor boy, exercise is not his favorite thing. LOL -
I know I would love, LOVE, a house with an apartment. I'm looking for something that can be a guest room for my son and his family and something private like that might just induce them to stay longer.

Any bird experts here? What explains this behavior?

In my yard, we have mockingbirds chasing crows. It's just a bird eat bird world out there. -
School affirmation that is bothering me on a gut level

We are related to Robert the Bruce through my mother's line, which then leads to royalty as you go back further. Through my father's line, we are related to Daniel Boone so relations can go either way. LOL -

We once had a cat accidentally get trapped in our car, where of course, it peed and pooped. I tried everything out there and everything helped a little but nothing did the whole job. Unfortunately, it was time that was the ultimate winner in removing the smell. -

We had a male cat with RBF. I miss that cat! RBF cats have personality.

I've been looking for a dog. I'm finally ready after our last dog died 5 years ago. But the shelters are full of pits and I mean full where their 350 dogs are all pits, except on a good day, where there might be one or two that are not. While I'm not necessarily anti pit bulls, I do have 5 cats and those big mouths with powerful jaws scare me when it comes to my kitties. It only takes one moment for something disastrous to happen, so as much as I hate the idea of not getting a rescue dog, I'm looking at breeders. I think it would be wiser in our situation to know the dog's temperament and history. In the OP's situation, I agree that it's smart to look for a specific breed considering the puppy will be with an infant on a daily basis.

My kids, now adults, read for pleasure. They also read for pleasure as children, until they reached the teen years when gaming and screens became more important to them. But they got through the other end of that, where it is no longer such a big deal to them, that now books have regained their appeal and I can't tell how much of a relief that is to me, as a big reader. Watching them losing that pleasure in their lives was sad.

That face! How old is she now?

My furniture is very similar to yours. A few years ago I painted them with chalk paint, changed the hardware, and took off the mirror and discarded it. I found another mirror I liked better at a thrift store, painted it to match and hung it on the wall over the dresser. I did all this with the furniture still in my bedroom. Because I used chalk paint, I didn't need to sand or use anything with a strong odor to prep it for painting. Chalk paint itself doesn't have a strong odor so working in the house was easily doable. I love it! Totally gave my room the beach cottage look I was going for. With that said, if you are just done with the furniture, as in mentally done, I say donate it and get what you want. Absolutely nothing wrong with that at all.

Our last name is spelled exactly like it sounds. Exactly! Unfortunately, there are several variations on its spelling, so as soon as I say it, I start spelling. What's odd is these other spellings aren't how you would spell it if you went by pronunciation. Part of me wants to tell them to sound it out. When it doesn't matter, I just let it go and spell it any way they like.

You are not the only parent doing this. Not even close. This is just smart parenting. -
A question about hoaxes - if someone does that, are they responsible for reimbursing the cost of the search and investigation?

So definitely a skunk? Ick. Yuck. I'm so sorry!

Window Replacement - This seems high, right?

I'm of the same mind. -
Our Aldi is hiring at $16.50. If you could stand the standing, that might be a way to go until something better comes along.

I'm so sorry! Waiting for a replacement this time of year is a nightmare. I think, for today, the odds were in our favor. It wasn't the cheapest fix but, at least for now, we don't need a new unit. By the time the tech got here, it was 82 in the house but it is now a much better 78. Hopefully by bedtime, it will be down to our usual 75. Whew, I'm exhausted by the outdoor heat just transporting kitties back and forth.
