  1. I'm running out the door, but here is one of my favorite supply stores: http://www.wholesalesuppliesplus.com/Default.aspx? I also like this place: http://www.brambleberry.com/ but the prices are a bit higher This soap making forum is wonderful. Lots of great advice: http://www.soapmakingforum.com/f11/ And for pure inspiration I love this site: http://www.soap-making-essentials.com/index.html - she also has some good recipes and information for beginners. Enjoy!
  2. We own all our cars outright. Always buy used and pay cash. We've never had a problem. FWIW, my son bought his first car last summer. He bought used via Craigslist and did not listen to our advice. It was a nightmare! He was able to re-sell the car "as is" for a fraction of his buying price. Then, someone in his church blessed him with their used car (they were getting a new one) for free! It turned a bad situation into a blessing. My son learned a lot from the experience.
  3. me too! I hate that, especially when they bury it *somewhere* on a long page. Why can't they ask you if you want it or not because it's not always ads anyway. I've all but left weather.com because they do this and it's SO annoying.
  4. I had the same problem early this morning. I was hoping it was fixed by now. :(
  5. :grouphug: I can relate to the issues surrounding your cycle. I've been fortunate that pcp have helped me tremendously. But :grouphug: :grouphug: for you...how frustrating for you. Do as much as you can while you're feeling okay and have your kids help you as much as possible. Hope it all turns out okay.
  6. yes, I agree - it's very possible. My daughter is pregnant with our first grandchild and she's 25. My son is 23 and is just getting engaged. I have a feeling they won't wait real long. But the other side of that equation is where they end up living. My daughter is less than an hour away, but my son will be moving between 2-5 hrs away, depending on which grad school he chooses. I totally agree with the OP: there really is nothing better than having children around. It's been a very difficult (heart-wrenching) couple of years as my children have begun leaving the nest. I still have an 11yr old, so I still have time... but it's not the same as when my house was filled with school-aged and/or little kids. I've been very nostalgic for those days.
  7. ooh, book blogs. I enjoy book blogs. I see we have smiliar tastes. I just finished "The Girl Who Died A Lot" and enjoyed it too. I left a comment on your review of the Connie Willis book - just so you know who it is.
  8. Your entry today was HILARIOUS! Definitely ignore on those occasions.
  9. I like the title "passionate motherhood" very nice
  10. I do! It's in my siggy too... and I have big news on my blog today. Not that I'm trying to raise my visit count or anything :D
  11. Salmon. Not sure what else to go with it. Probably some roasted brussel's sprouts because I have those on hand.
  12. I've used WP for about 4-5 yrs. I don't remember getting a "like" but I also turned off the ability for others to search via google and other engines. I wonder if that made a difference. When you say you want to look at posts, do you mean YOUR previous posts or you want to find posts for other WP blogs? There used to be a way to look at other WP posts via the tags but I think WP may have turned that off a few years ago. I guess I should go look and see. I've kind of dropped off my blogging of late and only post a few times a month. I used to post 2-3x per week.
  13. yeah, I wondered about those cobweb social groups.
  14. This just boggles my mind. Makes me want to go further and further off the radar. But I'm glad the issue resolved and I think you're right about going quiet and giving it time. Glad you're back though
  15. I've done Atkins for the last 11yrs, with falling off the wagon sprinkled in. I really feel so much better on Atkins or LC diet. You might also want to look at some Paleo recipes, as they are mostly LC (although not all are). Theyr'e probably not induction friendly, but, they will give you some variety - especially with veggies and fruits.
  16. No bikini's but we do allow tankinis. Once they are adults it's their choice (I have two adult girls).
  17. I'm agreeing with the others. My daughter was in a bad situation with a neighbor kid. It wasn't until the girl moved away that dd started to reveal the full extent of the situation. The same thing happened to my niece and some bullies at school. It wasn't until she was in another school and safe that she started to tell my sis the whole story. Sis was floored and distraught. We both said "If only we'd known...." I would bet that your kids are not telling you everything.
  18. I know, it's just so stunning it can't be true - can it?? :crying:
  19. I'm stunned and saddened. It seems like it wasn't that long ago she was posting some advice to someone concerning mental illness and now she's in hospice!?! She will be missed. Does she have a CaringBridge page or somewhere where we can keep up with her? This is such sad news.
