  1. http://www.ambitiouskitchen.com/2013/04/crunchy-cashew-thai-quinoa-salad-with-ginger-peanut-dressing/ Crunchy Thai cashew quinoa salad. Yum!
  2. Pulled pork and buns with corn bread and baked beans. They can toss the pork in a pan with a splash or 2 of water or stock to heat it up.
  3. I fold my plastic bags in triangles. They store so nice. When I have too many we bring them to the library for them to use when it is raining out. http://m.wikihow.com/Fold-a-Plastic-Bag
  4. Putting a garage sale dot sticker on an item I am low on after I purchase a replacement. So if I buy a mustard, for example, I put a dot on the one in the fridge to remind me I have one in the pantry. My iced tea maker The Libib app for keeping track of what books and movies we own to avoid duplication My printable packing list. Saves me a bunch of thinking time each trip, and it is organized by section, so if we are going to the cabin but not fishing, I can easily cross off that section, etc.
  5. This is really good. Definitely needs the beans to be a main dish. http://www.ambitiouskitchen.com/2013/04/crunchy-cashew-thai-quinoa-salad-with-ginger-peanut-dressing/
  6. A local company even made a shirt about it https://www.minnesota-awesome.com/collections/frontpage/products/duck-duck-grey-duck-minnesota-t-shirt
  7. We just put in CoreTec last year and so far we really like it.
  8. Yes! We make a point to each year take some just us family vacation time. We do trips with various extended family, and they are not true vacations to us as there is so much going on. That being said, our main vacations have been to a rustic resort for a week. The cost is low for lodging at $400/week including tax and firewood we buy at the store. It is about 5 hours drive time from home. We bring our fishing boat and also explore the many nearby state parks and lakes. We just did a bigger trip to the black hills and Badlands with a quick stop at devil's Tower. It was still a road trip, but we had to test our longer/bigger vacation tolerance level before flying somewhere. Don't think we are Disney people, but maybe universal for Harry Potter. I am hoping to one day convince hubby to go see beaches and the Everglades some winter.
  9. They also have a jr. Edition of the book, which we listened to on audio. It is a great story. I still need to finish the book, then I can't wait to watch the movie.
  10. We were driving a couple of weeks ago from Custer, SD to Devil's Tower, Wyoming and saw a range with the oven door open and a sign that read "open range".
  11. Good luck! We have been working on our fixer upper too. Up next is the railing, sanding and painting the rest of the trim and closet doors. Then the upstairs will be 95% redone. With all to do is make a couple of cabinets and back panel to the peninsula. Then we will move on to the basement. That needs insulation, electrical, egress, some framing and drywall. That will be in a year or 2. We need a break.
  12. My first thought was "why is that hard" then I remembered when I did it last, we had gutted it and redone things, so there was nothing to work around. Glad press and seal is my friend for painting
  13. New question. Did you/would you bring your child to results meeting? She is 10, close to 11. They said it was up to us at the clinic
  14. I did 50/50 orange or grape juice and club soda
  15. She is reading Voyage of the Dawn Treader evenings. I am reading a biography of Ida Scudder during the day. We just finished Peter Pan.
  16. breakfast/showers/get ready school work in garden lunch 4h visit to a horse rance supper-maybe enjoy a fire outside as it is set to be gorgeous today
  17. Playsilks! So many uses. Ours still get used.
  18. I'm sure our ped will be surprised too. I've brought up concerns, but they were more dismissed. It wasn't until I did the initial preschool evaluation(with the schools) that their reports agreed with me that something was off and it wasn't just me. From there we did a full school evaluation where she qualified for services under the autism heading. It's crazy how getting a diagnosis like this can be reassuring (among many other feelings) that it is not a result of bad parenting. I just sent off about 100 pages to the NP ahead of our Tuesday appointment. (our forms, my typewritten history, previous IEP and testing reports from the school).
  19. My write up is 5 pages long. Crazy! Interesting to look back and see that some things are exactly the same as her early years, and seeing what areas she has made improvements in. New question. As much as I want to figure out exactly what is going on and if we are dealing with Autism and possibly more, is there any disadvantage to selecting "yes" on the box that says they can share the information with her primary Dr.? While we need this testing, I still want her the least labeled as possible IYKWIM.
