  6. We have chooks, we keep them locked up mostly because we have sand, no soil, and the chooks moonscape the whole area very quickly we have a neighbour with 2 chooks. He completely free ranges. And hardly ever feeds. They spend a lot of time over here scratching up shrubs I try to grow and trying to get into my flower gardens. I wasn’t happy in spring when they ripped up 40 dailia plants that I had grown from seeds. I am forever chasing them back to his place..they now know if they hear the screen door open to run home. We live in 5 acre blocks

  9. capsicum are way better frozen than canned. you just slice up fresh and put into ziplock bags. then freeze. when you want to cook them you just hack some off the frozen lump do not defrost, just add to the cooking meal Climbing green beans seem to freeze better than the dwalf varieties. Once again I don't blanch at all, just cut , bag then freeze. add to boiling water frozen to cook I pickle the cucumbers.
  10. a very unhealthy day of eating, but we were out away from the house breakfast- banana lunch- 3 rice cakes with chocolate on them ( eaten while out) snack - 2 Anzac biscuits tea - everyone else had home made hamburgers, I just had the beef patty ( mince beef only) , bacon, egg, lettuce, beetroot and tomato , half slice cheese desert - homemade unsweetened apple sauce ( 1 tablespoon) with a small scoop of ice cream
  11. I use myfitnesspal as well. I add the exercise at the end of the day after I have checked my nutrition. I don't want' it to add extra calories and this is working for me

I would strongly recommend that people try growing some food this year, even if it is just sprouting stuff and greens. on top of all the world conflict causing potential food woes this year, a huge amount of vegetables, rice, nuts and soybean crops in Australia have just been completely wiped out by the floods. large areas of the eastern seaboard of Australia ( the fertile land part of Australia) We are an exporter of food. There mightn't be so much to export
  17. I feel your pain we have a respite worker to do craft with twins. She is useless at craft no idea how to work with disabled children to help them achieve a goal No idea at all, we have since hired another person, but haven’t worked out how to tell the first person that we don’t need her any more, so are paying both. Will run out of funding soon so I really need to tell her but boy it is hard.
  18. It wasn’t so traumatic for the relatives. His brother is my direct neighbour, and the one that found him. He has had lots of conversations with me and others in the street. We all respect a persons ability to chose when they want to go.
  19. My grandmother looked after her mother for about 7 years in the 1970s after she had a stroke and was paralysed on one whole side of her body. I remember being a child and visiting and seeing great grandma propped up in a chair, half her face twisted and her arm all twisted up.
