  1. In our family and circle, the vaccines/boosters made no difference in the severity of omicron.
  2. I follow this program on Instagram. (their website gives a different impression than their Instagram account 🤷‍♀️) I really like their philosophy! Their premise is balancing hormones and blood sugar through whole foods, focusing on protein, fat and fiber. I'm suggesting it because they provide support. https://metabolismmakeover.co/
  3. I agree. I would lay off the beans and chia seeds. What has worked best here is apple juice, actual prunes, not the juice, and Miralax. Eta: just a quick Google shows many places saying chia seeds can cause constipation.
  4. This is so horrible! I am so sorry! Praying for all!
  5. Even that is self absorption though. I have a relative who seems shy and with social anxiety. She is convinced no one likes her for that reason. But really, she is borderline covert narcissistic. It just presents as social anxiety. It's the same as you said, people don't really know her, but she is convinced everyone has strong opinions about her and has an agenda. She is completely preoccupied with herself and creates her own reality.
  6. Not sure what to think of some of these texts. https://people.com/movies/amber-heard-attorney-cross-examines-johnny-depp-on-the-stand/
  7. Dh is a pastor, and that is how he operates. It is probably specific to individual churches and pastors.
  8. To clarify, my reason for writing a letter would be for my own sake. Mom to mom. Is there something my son did that I am not aware of? I am fully on board with letting a relationship go. I just think it was abrupt enough to possibly warrant an explanation.
  9. I might be the odd man out. Other than the ethics of using their contact information, I am all about clearing the air. I personally would wait until I was able to be calm. Then I would draft a letter and say everything I would like to say as kindly and graciously as possible. Then I would set it aside for a while. Come back later and trim it way down to just the points that are asking for some clarification, making sure to keep a gracious tone. I may have had some negative results when trying to clear the air, but usually it ends up clearing up misunderstanding. I had a similar conversation recently and was thanked. I'm debating another one right now. But dh is with those of you who advises against these conversations. The key is gentleness and graciousness. Anything else will shut down the conversation.

Today was a repeat word. I'm almost positive. That bugs me!
  11. I am one who would consider visiting the mom. Only if I was able to be calm so that it is not seen as a confrontation but rather clarification. That's just me though.
  12. I far prefer Faber. (Master's in piano performance, over a decade experience of teaching all levels)
  13. For what it's worth, no matter how much geography I learned in school, it did. not. stick. It always concerned my mother greatly. I still struggle with it. What little I truly know has been from homeschooling my children. But I have a Master's degree in Piano Performance and taught college for 5 years. Never needed it once.
  14. We are working on the PHFF concept:every meal or snack must start with, and be centered around, whole food combinations of Protein, Healthy Fat, and Fiber. So any sugar must be tagged onto that. Which ends up resulting in less sugar overall if you are mindful to not go crazy with amounts. So no sugar on an empty stomach whatsoever. This plan is about keeping blood sugar balanced which works better for me than cutting out altogether. Because meals and snacks are "bulky", it reduces cravings.
  15. Same. I think it is a valid estimate that I personally know around 250 people who have had covid in the past 2 years.
  16. Fan running Hallway bathroom doorknob squeaking Cars passing Stairs creaking
  17. One of my sons had them. One of the connections was having to go to the bathroom. It was like his bladder woke him up, but his brain couldn't wake up. So when he was up and crying, I would take him to the bathroom. When we became diligent about making sure he had gone to the bathroom before bed, they slowed down. We also noticed that having dairy in the evening made needing to go to the bathroom much worse.
  18. Yes. Even in the elderly people I know who have it.
  19. I don't know about mothballs, but I still smell a weird smell after recovering. I kept describing mine as fruity cardboard 🤷‍♀️
  20. Maybe not Covid. We recovered from Covid over a week ago. Then 3 days ago my kids had symptoms like you described. It's a virus going through our town. None of those who have it tested positive for covid even with multiple tests. And the symptoms are nothing like we had with Covid.
