  1. We had this and it really wasn't covid. Dh and I had it and coughed for weeks. Then later got covid. My kids had covid, then recovered, then much later got the nasty coughing virus. Covid positive and negative tests were consistent. The cough was brutal and lasted for 2 months for one dd. Doctors didn't have any answer or any help. Others in our area had the same story. I kept wondering if it was some type of whooping cough variant.
  2. Interesting. That seems different than the response I got. Thank you! eta: the response I got was that the number of lessons would match the table of contents for each level as shown on the website. The numbers you listed aren't the number of lessons shown on the website. It looks like what they list as a table of contents is instead just a list of subjects.
  3. I'm still not sure. The table of contents in each of the books contains the exact same number of lessons that were in each season before. And it looks like each lesson still follows the same format of 3 practice pages, enrichment, and a test. I'm not convinced each book lasts a full year.
  4. Just mentioning that the revised version of AG isn't as revised as I thought. If you wanted to use JAG, you would just get the new Book 1. They technically just separated their product into 5 levels: JAG, JAG Mechanics, Season 1, Season 2, Season 3. They will have the old versions available until they sell out. Then the new version should technically work the same as before. You would just get a different book for each season.
  5. The longer I looked at it, and after emailing the company, all that is different is just physical. The 5 levels are nothing more than JAG, JAG Mechanics, Season 1, Season 2, Season 3. Nothing else has changed except new fonts, layouts etc., and the fact that they separated the original AG into 3 separate books as opposed to 3 seasons in one book. I compared table of contents and sample lessons. I don't see any other differences.
  6. I absolutely agree about the mental leap in late 40s. I think it's is truly like a second adolescence. You see the world very differently and feel lost for awhile. Midlife crisis is real, but not in the way it has been caricaturized. I think it just plays out differently for everyone. But it's a huge transition in all areas. I find it fascinating!
  7. I bought this, and we are going to try it soon! https://store.notconsumed.com/products/high-school-reading-journal-digital
  8. We used the Tiner books without any guides. There are questions in the back of the book that I had them answer in a notebook. Narration could easily be added for more.
  9. I didn't see a post about this yet. I'm excited! They are taking JAG and AG and making them into 5 levels. Much better look and easier to use in my opinion. https://www.analyticalgrammar.com/coming-march-2023/
  10. Bacon packaged in a way that isn't a giant pain to deal with!
  11. We had cold on top of covid followed by another cold go through all 7 of us at our house for the past 3 months. It's been crazy!
  12. Agreeing with what has been said so far. Right now I am trying to decide if I have a new cold or if it's a covid relapse because I have done too much too soon.
  13. Even though I am old enough, I didn't get one because I have always had my mom's. I still keep old family jewelry in it.
  14. This is what it was for me too. I did some stretching and it eventually went away.
  15. I think I am going to go with Stay. Stay present, stay focused, stay grateful.
  16. Does it mean that you end up washing dishes with filtered water? I can't get past feeling like it's a waste.
  17. I need to figure out a word for doing what I already know to do and appreciating what is right in front of me.
  18. I love Sugar Paper planner for actual planning and a spiral notebook for random lists and brain dumps
  19. Early morning sunlight in my eyes for 30 minutes which includes a walk. Taking Magnesium Citrate before bed. Believe it or not, a small cup of vanilla ice cream before bed. I've tested this and it truly makes a difference for me. Breathing in for 3 counts and out for 4 when I do start to wake up. No getting out of bed. Also the technique of systematically relaxing each body part while repeating, "I don't think." If nothing works, I move to the couch for a reset similar to what @regentrude mentioned.
