  1. Homemade goodies are always welcomed by everyone. I would think about cookies or candies.
  2. :grouphug: Dh and I had to put down our 15 year old dog right before dd was born, because he couldn't walk anymore and his quality of life declined a bunch. It was really hard, but the right thing to do for the dog.
  3. I don't have advice on CD's, but I do want to make a comment on watching the DVD. Dd started probably about 18 months watching Leapfrog Letter Factory, maybe a little younger. It didn't take her long until I noticed that she was starting to write the letters on her magna doodle. I printed sheets for her to start tracing letters at that point. It is just my experience. Mostly the only things she watched at that age were leap frog things and some lil pim spanish movies.
  4. Dd has The Best of Puzzle Mania Mazes 1. There is a puzzle works directions. It has directional clues. So from start you take 3 paces East then the next clue is take 4 paces N, etc. The goal is to find things in certain boxes that you have to get to by following the directions. Does anyone know what this type of puzzle is called so that I could find more of them.
  5. My soon to be 5 year old is sitting in the dog crate with our 50 lb dog reading him a book. No I am not crating dd she crawled in there and is playing. Really cute.

      I hope you took a picture :)

  6. I know I always say Alaska, but it is set up for boon docking in an RV. There are tons of places that you pull off to the side of the road next to a river and just relax. The Milepost tells you where everything is. You can fly up there and rent an RV. If you decide you want some advice in for the areas surrounding Anchorage, let me know. There is tons of stuff to do.
  7. B&H photo has used stuff and are a reputable company. A side note, years ago I purchased a new 35 mm camera from wolf camera. Sometime in the next year I decided I couldn't live with it eating batteries. I took it back in and they gave me a new camera without any hassle. Customer service does go a long way too.
  8. Do you know of anyone that has a membership card that could go in with you?
  9. One big piece of advice that I have seen with friends and family who have little dogs is to be really careful about owls, hawks, etc when outside. I haven't seen any of them harmed but I have seen a close call or 2. The pup is really cute btw.
  10. Several flavors of Bryers Ice cream are even though not certified. There are other brands that are fine too. If you go to a health food store you can get not kelloggs brand rice krispies that are gluten free.
  11. We've been doing it a long time too and people want to cook for us, so I often talk to our friends about it.
  12. Just an fyi, in the past I have run across flour or food starch tomato sauces, diced tomatoes and shredded cheese. It hasn't happened in awhile, but isn't unheard of.
  13. Subway runs the risk of cross contamination pretty bad. You can buy GF wraps and Boar's head lunchmeat, there are others that are also gluten free and do sandwiches. Do the GF one first and get it packaged up before doing the rest. Tostitoes, cool ranch doritos, fritos, and some flavors of some brands of chips like Utz are GF
  14. This isn't a series but might be something you would be interested in. Cats - http://www.amazon.com/Cats-Musical-Commemorative-David-Mallet/dp/B00004XMTJ/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1430085018&sr=8-1&keywords=cats+musical
  15. :grouphug: I was hoping to read that she was home by now. Praying that she is OK.
  16. Since you have no problem with a fencer, I would assume you would have no problem with a shock collar with a handheld remote. Use it on high when he chases the vehicles. Don't tell him no, just use it.
  17. My dh works contract and we have a home base. That seems to help although there are different issues involved like deciding what you really need from 1 month to a year. We have been fortunate that dh's work in a small community and we usually know at least someone when we go to a new area.
  18. My nieces k teacher did something similar. She made a video of all the different set ups that they did. Maybe I should think of doing something similar for the things dd and I do this coming year. I know over the last year, she has done tons of fun educational things and it really would be a nice thing to have in the long run.
  19. Pandora bracelet with a beads in her school colors and mascot if you can find it.
  20. NOOOOO, don't do it, don't get rid of your sailboat and become land lubbers! Just kidding, that is my feeling about being ready to move onto a sailboat. We have sailed a lot on the East Coast but all shorter trips. We sold our boat before dd was born and are now holding out for something large enough to live on work from. We traveled across country from Alaska to Virginia. If you can go up and see Alaska in the summer time. There are tons of places to boondock up there. You just pull off the side of the road and set up camp. A book called the Milepost would really be helpful for a trip like that up there. When we came back from Alaska we hit several of the national parks out west as neither of us had ever seen any of them. Hope you have a great trip.
  21. We always tip, we have a dog and a kid we travel with. We have spent tons of time in hotels due to dh's job and we like to vacation. We usually stay in places that cost less than $130 a night and we try to keep it under $100 a night but in the last year or two that hasn't always been easy.
