  1. I don't find that .pdfs work well on my Kindle, but the Fire might be different. Perhaps let her use your printer to print free .pdfs?
  2. It depends what you are doing and how you are feeling. Since you are feeling bad, you may need to eat a little something. Can you keep something in your room?
  3. When I require reading, it is reading that I want done. I do not require fun reading, that happens on its own.
  4. I could teach some things, but only what I already know. I wouldn't want to try it, unless if I knew as much as the father in The Swiss Family Robinson.
  5. I am not a Christian. I think SOTW is fairly American and WASP in its interpretation of historical events. I can see Catholics having a problem with it, but that is due to the usual American view that the Protestant Reformation is an advancement. The view is very similar to what I remember from public school science, all the way through high school. That said, we like it.
  6. The beginning is a very good place to start. It gives them the chronological flow that way. I would use more outside materials to make a complete history course for the 11 year old.
  7. I did different things at different times. First marriage started with ABD, then changed to ACD Second marriage ABD Facebook ACD
  8. Beatrice is beautiful, I would totally use it if I were you. Alice is another favorite, but I probably wouldn't use it since you have an Adelaide. All your girls have great names. Margaret is nice, but kind of boring with your others.
  9. From my memory, trigonometry + analytic geometry = pre-calculus. I think we had both, but pre-calc was the advanced class.
  10. If he wants to do it, there is no reason not to let him. The Spencerian copybooks I have have tiny spaces for writing, so I might not use those with a young child.
  11. If you have cable, you can stream from the networks' sites, but those had commercials when they were free, so I don't know if that avoids commercials now or not.
  12. If I am trying to eat healthy, Breakfast: Scrambled eggs with veggies and cheese Lunch: Salad with meat (tuna or chicken or lunch meat) Dinner: Meat with cooked vegetable
  13. BA is much more challenging than the level indicates.
  14. Not a laptop, but our desktop is Asus and almost 6 years old.
  15. We have books on bookshelves in the living room, a pantry in the dining area that houses non-book materials, and paper is supposed to be in some kind of paper storage, still working on the details of that. I don't have any schoolish things on the walls anywhere, but I don't worry about whether school takes over. Oh, and until recently, the toys were all kept in the living room (other than the ones out of rotation).
  16. One of the options in Florida is to register with a private "umbrella" school, so not everyone homeschooling is registered with their county and it would be easy to fly under the radar.
  17. I have Intellego Unit Studies Astronomy, but I didn't use it. We read Seymour Simon books on different topics, looked at the sky, and meant to go to the planetarium, but haven't made it there yet. This was for 2nd last school year.
  18. We call it Morning Basket. And there have been times when the books were in a basket.
  19. Puerto Rico is part of the US. I like to go to the beach in Florida in January when the weather is nice, but I don't like heat and sun and don't care about swimming in the ocean.
  20. I take my son to a variety of these things, as they are available and we can find prices we can afford. The local symphony does a free children's concert annually, the local theater is a community theater and has special field trip prices for some shows, other theaters in nearby cities also have special field trip prices. It pays to call and ask.
