  1. Op...Your dd needs a phone :001_smile: , but I think she did just fine under the circumstances. Her friend and her mom sound like they need to step back and look at things with a little honesty; their reactions make no sense, esp the mom's. Friend was probably trying to cover her behind, but her mom sounds a little delusional; or as we like to say...Queen of denial.
  2. I say do what makes you happy. Neither of my kids have ever liked turkey and dh has a sodium restriction now. We make a meal of things each of us love and spend the day enjoying ourselves together. I hope your holiday is awesome.
  3. Kim, I would want to be very sure your ds is (savvy / firm) enough to stay out of it. The other T#co B#ll employee here insisted he was just trying to do his job and the other night shift leader was cooking the stuff. Both were arrested. I'm not sure how things turned out for the second guy.
  4. One of our local Taco B#ll's was closed for a few weeks this summer due to employees cooking m#th in the kitchen. It was on the news and two employees were arrested and let go. I wouldn't want my adult children working or eating in a place that was dealing.
  5. I wouldn't love it. It just doesn't come across or professional or appropriate imo. I'm not shocked, living in a state that is proud our top party school is always in the top 5.
  6. I think a necklace of onions would keep a lot of people away like a garlic one, but sick people usually can't smell. If I entered a house with black-rotting onions, I'd want to leave  .
  7. Very helpful for both of you to read. I would recommend it to pretty much everyone.
  8. Happy Anniversary btw.
  9. They are just lists that can be fun if you like them, but ignored if you don't. I never consult them btw except for biggies like 25th, 50th etc. They remind me of jewelry birthstones...If you don't like rubies, but love sapphires, buy the one you love.
  10. :iagree: Op...I have to remind myself to try on every pair before removing the tags. I've even got to the point of purchasing 3 or 4 if I need 2 because I expect the variance in fit and size. When I get stuck returning, I always mention my frustration with the differences in sizes. I also agree that Old Navy is the worst for me, but I like their jeans.
  11. I think the host or hostess of the party missed on this one. It's always been acceptable to give or want cash, but the host or hostess can easily let those invited know if it isn't the norm in the culture or area. Oh, and I'm sad for little kids missing out on giving, receiving and opening gifts at birthday parties and holiday celebrations.
  12. :grouphug: :grouphug: :grouphug:
  13. How sad, I'm so sorry.
  14. He enjoys it, and you feel he needs the connection. Saying that, I would also try to make it work and find a way to hang out at the church while he is there.
  15. :iagree: Your sister needs a lawyer to navigate her way through this mess. Unfortunately this is not a simple as asking him to leave or his son taking over responsibility; my guess is that he has lived there for the past two years and plans to continue.
  16. That's a tough way to start your special day, I hope the rest of your day goes better. Happy Birthday~
  17. Beth, you mention him being out of space in his room...Do you have the space in the house to give him another room?
  18. I would talk with him and work out how far / long a drive he would be up for, then plan from there. Oh, and I would if possible take a short day trip with him before to see how things would work out.
  19. Even with her 1996 agreement, I think today the issue could be accommodated in a number of ways without her disturbing her what ever she calls it by wearing an electronic device. I hope the student pushes the issue and finds some sort of accomidation.
  20. I make my own homemade and it's cheap and easy (have to due to dh salt restriction) . I mix yeast with warm water and sugar, then add flour sodium-free baking powder and Italian seasoning, and no-sodium salt sub. Mix then drizzle the ball with EVOO and let it rise. I pre-bake for a few minutes, then top it and pop it into the over for about 15 minutes at 400'.
