  1. Sending you all of my love and support. I’ve been in a similar situation with suspicious findings, waiting for more definitive answers, and an unsupportive husband. It’s ok to be a nervous wreck and thinking about potential options - it’s a stressful position to be in. Also know, as others have said, that you’re not alone - you have an entire family here that will support you through whatever may come. I’m praying your results will be negative.
  2. What a hopeful update! Praying he will continue to improve.
  3. Several of her songs were my anthems on repeat while I was getting divorced: Tolerate It, We Are Never Getting Back Together, and I Forgot That You Existed, among others. My favorite T. Swift / divorce story is when my narcissist ex-husband showed up on my 88-year-old mom’s doorstep with flowers and chocolate cake, trying to get her to convince me to stay with him. She bluntly told him to never come back and said, “It’s like that Tara Smith song, We will never be together again!” This from a woman who doesn’t know how to use the internet, email, her phone, etc (despite us showing her how a million times). I love the thought of my mom quoting (trying to!) Taylor Swift to him! 🤣
  4. Yes, so fun! The second album seems more hopeful overall. I love that there’s a song clearly about Travis. Arguably two, also So High School.
  5. Yes, love it! I stayed up late to listen to it, and when I was about to go to sleep, she dropped the second one, so I had to stay up even later to listen to that. The whole thing is very raw, with beautiful lyrics that spoke to me in so many ways given my divorce almost 2 years ago.
  6. Praying for you and for K. I have experience with adult children with mental health concerns and it is so hard. Hugs to you!
  7. I would just add to be sure and check the license plate number and type of car before getting in. The app will tell you that a “white Mazda, license plate ABC123” will be picking you up. Make sure that matches before getting in. I’ve never used Lyft, but in the Uber app, there’s also an option to notify someone of your choosing of your location.
  8. I’m so glad it worked for you - I have that video bookmarked and use it several times a year. As far as seeing your doctor, I never do after having vertigo, but I’m certainly not going to tell you not to if you think it’s appropriate. Congratulations on your newest grandchild!
  9. She is perfect! Congratulations!
  10. Do you know if it’s just the UV Elements that is changing? I use the UV Clear every day and love it - I hope it isn’t changing, too!
  11. Ugh, it’s the worst. I’m 52 and feel like I’ve been in this stage forever. I just went 117 days without a period, thinking I was finally done, but then today, BAM nope!
  12. Praying that all will be well.
  13. I use Carter’s baby washcloths found in the baby aisle at Target. They’re much softer than regular terry cloth washcloths and just absorbent enough (but not too much).
  14. I rowed over 45,000 meters last week, and have stayed on point with my eating. My weight is slowly inching down, so that’s encouraging. I have my meals planned out for the rest of the week, so should stay good. But this Saturday, I’m going on a vacation with my sister for a week, so all eating and exercise bets are off. We will do a lot of walking, but I do not intend to avoid all sugar like I have so far this year. I’ll get back on the case when we get home.
  15. One week into the new year, and I’m still on point with my food. I’ve been keeping track of things on My Fitness Pal, and haven’t had any of my regular stress foods (soda, sweets, etc). I’m trying to keep the momentum going, but also give myself some grace if I’m not perfect.
  16. I’d like to join back in for some accountability. My fitness goals this year include better eating and for my average monthly weight to move down by 1 lb. per month. I work between 50-60 hours a week, so it’s hard for me to fit in a lot, and to prepare meals that take a lot of time. Having said that, I feel like my exercise is pretty well dialed in - I row for 45 minutes every day (mostly for the stress-relief benefits!). But my eating can be atrocious at times - lots of stress eating and sometimes eating something like chips and salsa or cereal for dinner. It’s bad. What I would love is for someone to just make me a 2-3 week meal plan based on what I will realistically eat and have time to prepare. I’m just not going to eat pan-fried tofu in a 14-ingredient sauce with tons of veggies that take forever to peel, chop, and cook. I looked into a nutritionist through my health system, but they will only do meal plans for people with serious medical conditions. Any suggestions for an independent nutritionist who will make me a meal plan?
  17. I’m so sorry that things are hard right now. You sound like a really great mom who did everything to set them up well. It’s really hard when kids start making their own decisions contrary to what we think is best. I’m in the trenches of that right now, so I totally empathize. My kids are older now (20-26), and I have a lot of regrets on how I handled smartphones with them. If I were in your situation, I would buy her a Gabb phone (they weren’t a thing when my kids were younger). If her main concerns are texting friends and taking pictures, she can do both with it. There are also several apps that she can be downloaded as well. The biggest draw for me is that it’s not connected to the internet, so for someone who may not be making the best decisions regarding that, it’s not even available.
  18. If so, what type and brand? I woke up this morning with a pretty bad vestibular migraine - to the point I couldn’t sit up or get out of bed without extreme dizziness and nausea. Fortunately, I’m feeling better but still have low-level dizziness when moving about. I dove down the Google rabbit hole today and learned that many migraine sufferers are low in magnesium and I’m thinking I’d like to supplement. But there are so many different forms, and a million brands - I’m looking for recommendations from people who are actually taking a supplement. Thanks!
  19. Sending all my love to you
  20. Understandably, I was pretty angry about it at the time. I mean, who leaves kids that age unsupervised with glitter glue?! But I can totally laugh about it now. And my kids and I really do refer to it as the Great Glitter Glue Disaster of 2007!
