  • DS finished off strong with an acceptance to Berkeley.   This is the school his older sister applied to and got rejected or waitlisted  three times - once for undergrad and twice for law school... so she's going to kill him:)

Congratulations! We have some sibling rivalry going on here, too—mostly my college grad is bitter about this kid’s superior FA offers.

😀👍

That would be awesome! It's definitely where we are all assuming he will go but until he clicks on his SIR I am not going say anything to jinx it!

Same with his twin - she's choosing between two and we ALL want her to go to SB but also know that it's got to be her own choice 😂.

You owe me a dollar! With an unsurprising Brown rejection we are done! On to tough decisions!

It really has been quite the ride for your family! Can't wait to hear the final decision!

DD accepted to:

American University + honors: merit award lower than expected based on NPC, but she didn't like the feel of the campus anyway

Bryn Mawr: good merit award, but not as much as hoped for

Dickinson: very good merit award 🧜‍♀️

Indiana University + honors: not enough merit aid to justify high OOS tuition

St. Olaf: very good merit award

UCONN: no honors invite, small merit award (in state)

University of Georgia + honors: excellent merit award (OOS)

University of Kansas: max automatic merit award, but rejected from their honors program (OOS)

She was rejected from the one Ivy she applied to at the urging of a family member, but she didn't want to go there anyway.

We are very happy with her choice!  As she applied she was leaning toward Bryn Mawr, but the cost would have been a reach, the academic program she wanted was abruptly discontinued (grant not renewed), and she decided that the student body might be a bit smaller than she would prefer.  UGA ended up lowest net cost and is very strong in her tentative fields of study.  Go Dawgs!

My first homeschool graduate!

Applied and accepted to:

Freed-Hardeman University

Harding University

Oklahoma Christian University (her top choice and she has committed to OC).

Still waiting on complete financial aid numbers, but it looks like at least 2/3 of her first year will be covered by scholarships.

Except the grant, this was literally the same Bryn Mawr process I went through in 1989....

M has officially committed to Lindenwood University, with a merit scholarship. They plan to major in Political Science with a minor in music.

(Whew!!!)
