I love these backpacks. All my kids have them. All my nieces and nephews have them. I got them for my sisters and sisters-in-law for Christmas this year. (I might be their biggest customer. I think I’ve bought 20 different backpacks!) They are sturdy and pretty unique. I saw them on Shark Tank a few years ago.

What a wonderful collection of designs, Caroline.  My daughter had a backpack similar to the Guatemalan one (it may well have come from there) which lasted for years.

These mugs are pretty cool: https://www.etsy.com/listing/631878400/crabby-mug-handmade-porcelain-pottery?ref=user_profile&sca=1

I got one of  these for my aunt last year: https://www.etsy.com/listing/76762036/handmade-julian-of-norwich-statue-patron?ref=user_profile  I liked the "all shall be well" part especially, and she has cats

This shop has great stuff if you're into unique natural jewelry or dinosaurs, and a lot of it is disability-friendly: https://www.etsy.com/listing/233227270/dinosaur-bone-heart-necklace-gembone?ref=shop_home_active_5

Sturgeon River Pottery is near my favorite Northern Michigan vacation spot. I always come home with gifts. And they package their stufff for shipping very well. I have never had anything break in shipping or on my 1000 mile drive home. Here are a couple of my favorites...

Has anyone mentioned this (I haven't read replies), but I would totally pop those in one sitting and then be like "there goes my year".  🤣

Regarding 2019 Bubble Wrap Calendar - A Poster Sized Wall Calendar with a Bubble to Pop Everyday

You're the first to mention it, but probably not the first to think it.  I LOVED bubble wrap as a child (ahem, I might still have a certain fondness for the stuff) and such a calendar would have been gone in half an hour had I got my hot little hands on it.

They do say 'time flies'!

For those of us who work with the public, a tongue-in-cheek option: https://shop.coolmaterial.com/products/the-customer-is-always-wrong-mug

Very cute, moonflower! I note that on the bottom of the page is the book How to Swear.  I don't imagine you have any need to know how to do that while working with the public ....

this is a useful bracelet for someone who always has a hair-tie around their wrist, I bought one for my sister last year, Etsy also has different versions of them

Hair tie bracelet, the Grommet

library book pendant at Etsy

pink unicorn hook (for headphones etc. or just because...at amazon

Book: The secret lives of color over at Bas Bleu (got it last year for my dd who is an art major.  I'm thinking of getting her this book, Werner's Nomenclature of colors -for her this year.

iphone charger bracelet , I kind of want this but am debating how long before iphone changes the charger size again...

steampunk style raven boots on Etsy. I got these last year for a daughter. The artist worked with me and took out the skulls on the fabric and used just ravens and words. They were really nicely done, good quality.

Easily distracted by birds shirt- on my list

I apologize if any repeats, I tend to get my gift ideas here 🙂

We are still loving our HP Advent Calendar, and I saw that Barnes & Noble's website has them 50% off (for $19.99). Amazon is still pricing them at $60+!  Pick up only, best I can tell, so maybe someone who wanted this will have a location nearby with them in stock. (I found one in stock near us and went ahead and bought one for the girls to play with. The first one is mine!)

Here we are, 13 days in (today was Dumbledore!):

"F-word" alert...proceed with caution!!

Someone *precious* to me has started to put some work on Society6.  (Designs get put on shirts, mugs, wall decor, even throw pillows!)  They only have two designs right now: "f*ck the patriarchy" and "masculinity is a prison".

I'm putting this here because i think it counts as unique and maybe it's the perfect gift for someone!  I actually think a "f*ck the patriarchy" throw pillow is hilarious!

Something about the font combined with the text just makes me laugh!

When I saw avocado sock, I thought you meant this https://www.amazon.com/Foot-Traffic-Adorable-Food-Themed-Footwear/dp/B01H2J4L5G/ref=sr_1_4_sspa?s=apparel&ie=UTF8&qid=1544884488&sr=1-4-spons&nodeID=7141123011&psd=1&keywords=avocado+socks&psc=1 which my dd got for her roommate. I think they're so cute! Also, I've seen the flexible drum and piano at our local toy store and they are really neat and see to be high quality.
