athena1277
After fighting early spring allergies, I woke up this morning with laryngitis. I’m teaching a class on Monday, so I’ve got to get over this soon. Is there anything that will knock this out quickly?
regentrude
complete voice rest. Do not whisper; that is particularly bad.
athena1277
complete voice rest. Do not whisper; that is particularly bad. I’ve tried, but with a 1yo, it’s hard.
happi duck
No whispering! Also, I've had good luck with taking cough syrup (expectorant) but split into many little doses. Take the maximum daily dose but split into half doses.
Jean in Newcastle
Hot liquids help me some. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
bibiche
Humidity will help, so draw a really hot bath and hang out in the bathroom for a while; drink a lot, preferably lots of room temp water but definitely not tea or coffee, which are drying; avoid anything that could give you acid reflux, such as tomatoes, citrus, spicy food, alcohol, etc; suck on lozenges. Don't talk! And try not to clear your throat.
Katy
Hot toddies cut phlegm the best, but you also need voice rest, and I never feel comfortable drinking and watching little kids like that. Can you text a friend or relative to help?
momto3innc
I do this mix. Fill a mug with hot water. Add a very liberal shot of apple cider vinegar... like a good amount so it really stinks 😊 and all your kids complain about the smell and burns when it goes down. Then squeeze the juice of one whole lemon in and a ton of honey and drink up. This has worked really well for me in the past.

littlebug42
Throat coat tea and a throat spray called Singer's Saving Grace. You can get both at the health food store. Also, complete vocal rest as others have mentioned.
HSmomof2
I had it a few months ago. I drank a lot of chamomile tea and ate a lot of throat lozenges. I was able to speak after about a day and a half. Unfortunately, it then turned into a terrible cold/cough.
PrincessMommy
Ginger! Get fresh ginger.. cut it in slices and put about 4-5 slices in hot tea or just plain hot water. It will be strong... but sip on that all day ... refreshing as needed. I usually add a bit of sweetener.
Pegasus
Gargle, do not swallow, with 1/2 teaspoon salt and 1/2 teaspoon baking soda fully dissolved.in 8 ounces of warm water, several times a day. Love the variety of answers!
