Does this sort of thing happen to you?  I was in the parking lot of a store yesterday.  I got out just as the person in the car next to me got out.  Our eyes met so I nodded and smiled.  She said "Hi" so I responded with a "Hi, how are you?"  And she started to tell me.  In detail!  I don't mind really but I had no context for her problems.  I just listened and said "I hope it works out" and walked on.  My kids were snorting and saying "do you know her?"  Well, no.  But this happens to me all . the . time.

Yes. This happens to me too, quite often. A few months ago I was standing in line at the pharmacy at Walgreens and a dude and I struck up a conversation. He'd only been out a jail a short while and thought he'd be going back soon, but didn't want to, but it was so hard on the outside. I know I've worked in (juvenile) corrections, but he had no way of knowing that. I started asking about his support system and triggers and stuff. I hope he's doing okay.

I'm getting signing time from the library to see if the kids take an interest in sign language.

Both of my girls enjoy Signing Time. There still might be some on Netflix too.

I spend the morning taking the old cat to the specialist for her eye problem. I say eye, because it's the only one she's got now. She needs corneal surgery. Scheduled for early January. Quite sure I'll be a wreck. I plan to go hide out at the library and try not to worry too much.

The kitten is still having GI stuff, but she feels great today. Rocketing around, eating, playing and in a good mood. Right now I'm trying to find out if there is a dietary cause for her inflammation while treating any possible bacterial causes. She's too small for endoscopy at present.

Other than that and a headache, I'm okay.

Howdy,

I know you fix critters, but do you only adopt critters that need fixing? Just wondering.

I received some progesterone cream in the mail today, and I don't know when I should put it on.  Does someone know?  I am peri-menopausal but not post-menopausal.  I am hoping it helps me to sleep.  Please advise.  The directions on the package don't really apply to me.

When you feel your worst? Um...I don't know. If not pregnant, progesterone drops sharply right before period, so maybe sometime after ovulation to keep hormones steady? Like I said, I have absolutely no idea, but since I'm caught up with the thread, just thought I'd chat.

This thread helps cure migraines.

This is now scientifically proven.

I guess this might be true, as I didn't get a super-bad headache this month.  Only the normal headaches.

Don't spread the word, though; we don't need the ITT flooded with people looking for a migraine cure.

Actually, if that happens we could start selling essential oils on this thread we could make a bundle...  $$   :biggrinjester:

Just rich is okay, too.  Fame is overrated.

I would like some raspberry sorbet with chocolate curls on the side. Also a root beer.

Thank you for your prompt attention to this important matter.

Hi Susan,  No raspberry sorbet or chocolate curls, but we do have brownie leftovers.  (and vanilla ice cream, Hershey's dark chocolate sauce -- my kids are chocolate snobs (they learned from me), and whipped cream.

And, you're in luck!!  We still have some (flat) root beer!

I'll send them through the internet to you as soon as I figure out how to do that!

This is terrible. I think I would rather repeat natural childbirth.

I can also choke on my own spit.

I had a virus attack the iris in my eye five years ago. It happened very quickly and all the sudden I was at the eye doctor's at 5:30pm the day before Thanksgiving. Everyone in the office had left but the doctor (who happened to be one of the top opthamologists in the area and happened to be there that day), the receptionist and an assistant. The pressure in my eye was very high and I was so sensitive to light they had me in a room in the dark. The doctor had no idea what was wrong with me and finally gave me an injection in my eyeball. I think it must have been steroids to reduce the inflammation. It gave me a shiner all the way down my face, too. It took several months to be gone and my iris is partially eaten away. It was a rather traumatic experience.

This is a horrifying story!

progesterone cream: inner arms, chest, inner thighs---anywhere the skin is thin and there's a lot of capillaries. Progesterone is extremely fat soluble, so it is absorbed well through skin.  Some apply it internally.

Side note: dh probably doesn't want exposure to your cream, so plan accordingly.  Likewise, use care when snuggling pets/small children.

ETA: You asked when, not where. I am also watching Uncle Buck explain quadratic equations on video with oldest.  Day 12-26 of your cycle...and not for long periods of time (i.e. many months in a row). Because it is fat soluble, excess progesterone is stored in your fat and long term use of the cream can really throw you out of whack.

Good advice! I plan on using it nightly to help with sleep. Thank you.

I'm not good at reading between the lines. Can you explain the side note please? :D
