Christian gift ideas for baptism

What denomination? Do they do saints and/or icons? Prayer book?

For someone quite small, I might do two gifts--maybe a stuffie (like a lamb--a "symbolic" animal) or a child's devotional, that would be "for now," and something more long-lasting/heirloom that she can appreciate later.

I've recently seen gifts of a Christmas ornament of a nativity scene and a decorated wooden cross to hang on a wall (above the child's bed?). They were both engraved with the baby's name and baptismal date. When my daughter was married, we got them a small wooden cross that had been hand painted in Latin America with lovely colorful designs. I think something like that would be nice too.

My children received photo frames with their names and the date inscribed on them.

The Jesus Storybook Bible audio CD. Well done and fun too!

Scripture songs or hymns for kids cds?

I think it is very food for a child to have more than one Bible story book or picture Bible so I might ask the parents and get one she doesn't already have, perhaps one a bit ahead, to grow into. The art alone can be reason to have several - different artists communicate very different takes on the same stories.

I like Michael Podesta's illustrated calligraphy. He does Bible verses, prayers and famous quotations.
