Received some sad news.

Recommended Posts

My cousin passed away yesterday. She had been HIV positive for about 13 years, and apparently the medications she was taking to prevent full-blown AIDS, along with some of her lifestyle choices, were tough on her liver.

She was only 40.

We weren't terribly close, but I feel awful for her mother (who I knew better than I knew my cousin).

If you think about it, would you say a prayer my cousin's parents (Mary and Ron)?

Crissy, the idea that its the very drugs that we need in order to stave off a chronic disease that are the thing that ends up hurting us is very, very sobering indeed.

I should clarify, Myrtle, that her choice to continue drinking may have played a part in her liver failure. I do not know that the drugs alone would have caused the problems that ultimately ended her life.

Oh Crissy, I'm sorry! I will pray for Mary and Ron. It hasn't been an easy year for your family!!
