LizzyBee Posted July 12, 2011 Share Posted July 12, 2011 I previously posted that I was diagnosed with leukemia and my oncologist thinks the type is chronic myelogenous leukemia. If you have to have leukemia, this is the best kind to have. My oncologist finally received the pathology report for my bone marrow biopsy, and the genetic marker for CML is confirmed. YAY! This is a big relief. I've already had five days of oral chemo to knock down my white blood cell count and a blood transfusion to boost my hemoglobin. My new medicine, a targeted CML drug, is supposed to arrive today by FedEx.
