Some people have been extremely dissatisfied with specific deals not working and (lack of) customer service. HOWEVER, Amazon invested $175M in LivingSocial last month, so I suspect this is legit. To be on the safe side, pay with a credit card (rather than debit) and don't be afraid to dispute the charge with your cc company if LivingSocial doesn't come through. I have ordered from LivingSocial before and have not had any trouble. In fact, once, I had purchased a deal (movie ticket deal) and the company went out of business before my deal could be used. Without me even having to contact them, LivingSocial sent an email stating that the business (it was a movie coupon deal) had gone out of business. Not only did LivingSocial issue me a full refund immediately--which they didn't have to do since it wasn't their fault, they also credited me an additional $5 in LivingSocial bucks to use on a future deal. But it will only give you the 1 free one, from the first 3 referrals. I got notifications from people using the link, but not from all the ones that I knew happened. On the receipt there was a line item for a $10 discount. To get to the receipt go to Deals > Purchase History and click View Receipt. If yours was not free, you will not have the line for discount. I didn't do this for the referrals only, since the original deal was great, but I would like to get that reward, as well.
