GWOB
Well, I like Cora, but that is my oldest's name;). I also like Grace. Grace is a cute little girl name, but I would also allow Grace to operate on my brain or defend me in court.
Janie Grace
Most: Eva, Ava, Cora, Grace. Least: Bree (reminds me of a Narnian horse). Halo (violence). Anything with "lyn" at the end looks too trendy to me.
hsbaby
Awwww....so much hate for Kayla:(. My oldest is Mikayla. I wanted to spell it Michaela....long story. I wanted to have a little Michaela since I was in 1st grade and knew an older girl named Michaela. She was so pretty and a fabulous writer....I really looked up to her. Anyway, all if the names are beautiful. Who cares what's trendy or what other people like! That's why they have theirown kids to name:)
Alphabetika
Well, two of my dd's are Kenzie and Piper, so I'm partial to those. ;)

Mejane
I dislike made-up names or names in which the spelling has been altered from the traditional for no particular reason. It really doesn't make it unique, it just looks wrong. I also intensely dislike names that have the potential to be mispronounced frequently. Having grown up with one, let me tell you it's a pain. Don't do that to your child. There's nothing wrong with a lovely traditional name like Eva, Sophia or Grace. Those names have stood the test of time for a reason. I sometimes shudder when I think of all the 80yo Britneys and Shaylas that will abound in a few decades. :tongue_smilie: Edited November 9, 2010 by Mejane
mamalbh
Alora sounds to me like the main character in a fantasy novel. That's kind of neat if you read a lot of fantasy fiction and you're hoping to raise a child who will slay dragons when she grows up. Ember could grow up to work in porn and wouldn't have to change her name! About Alora... Both 'Alora' & 'Kiya' are from one of our favorite movies: 'Willow' :001_smile: I have no idea if I'm spelling them how they were intended. I immediately liked them because they're different, but not bizarre sounding (at least not to me) I had no idea 'Ember ' could sound like a dirty name. I'm glad y'all are letting me know -it seems to be the consensus, so 'Ember' is now out of the running.
Ravin
I like Halo the least. Reminds me of a violent video game. Bree I like the best, goes with my bias for Tolkien names. Rose and Calla are really nice, too. DD thinks Eva is the best choice.
ChristineW
Which ones do like the best/least? Alora Ava Cora Skye Kiya Bella Grace Addison Samara Bliss Mirabelle Piper Bree Halo Brooklyn Ella Sierra Gem Holly Ember Ellis Johana Adalyn Emmalyn Eva Sofie Kenzie Calla Rose Kayla Kamira Kailyn Thanks :-) For a valentine theme I like Cara (pronounces Care-uh) which is Gaelic for friend or Italian for beloved. Nakia
Well, I like Cora, but that is my oldest's name;). I also like Grace. Grace is a cute little girl name, but I would also allow Grace to operate on my brain or defend me in court. I don't think I knew you had a dd named Cora, too! I love that name!! I'm so glad we picked it for our youngest. Her name is Cora Elizabeth. Do you mind sharing your dd's middle name?

journeytolily
I like Ella, Eva, Sofie, Ava, and Grace the best. If we are ever blessed with another daughter, she will be named Sophie Adelaide (Adelaide is MIL's middle name). Veronica p.s. Ever thought about Miranda? That's my oldest's name, and she get compliments all the time - not "strange" but not too commom, and very pretty.

missesd
A lot of the names I liked on the list. Some of them are very popular right now, and I tend to avoid those. The two that stood our to me the most in that entire list though were, Alora and Ava. Keep in mind though I have an Alyssa, Olivia, and Elena. I tend to prefer the vowel starting names :) HTH~

My DS is named Ernest for crying out loud becuase he's a IV. And if we have another son, I will be very hard pressed to keep DH from naming him James Tiberius Kirk. So far, I've been able to keep him contained to the animals. :D
hsbaby
No, Samara is the horrific dead girl in The Ring. (shudder) :iagree: That's what I always think of too! We have a friend that named her little boy Malokai and all I could think of was Children of the Corn:) Scary movies are one thing that can just ruin a name for me!
