  1. Moved almost my whole classroom downstairs to temp space and now I’m sick- not covid but some other respiratory crud. 4 days of school left
  2. If you hire movers, they will pack your stuff. You can mark each box with what room it goes in. They can do it in a few hours. They won’t declutter for you though 🙂
  3. Cleveland Clinic and the Vt Children’s hospital both did things that way for us when we had a medically fragile child. One stop shopping- we usually stayed in one exam room and different specialists rotated through the room. Ronald McDonald house stay if you needed overnight.
  4. My report cards comments are generic “continue to practice math facts and reading over the summer” type ones.
  5. Just trying to make it through the end of the school year. Every day feels like a marathon. Am moving classrooms too so packing up all my stuff.
  6. Oh man, I’ve got mixed feelings about Catan and the add ons like Seafarers. Was it fun? Yes. Am I glad my kid grew up and I don’t have to play anymore? Also yes. We bought Catan junior for the little ones during the height of Covid but I’m kinda glad they aren’t that interested. They’re in public school and aren’t looking for mom to play 3 hour board games with them. Otoh, I’m still keeping our Catan & Dominion sets, just in case…
  7. I’m just recommending Yoga with Joelle instead of Adrienne- much easier for beginners. Have you tried water fitness classes?
  8. I love the Latuza bamboo sets too! I just ordered a few more last night because I’ve gained some weight and mine from last summer are too tight to be super comfy.
  9. Update- got the notification today that I AM going to second next year. Can’t tell anyone in real life yet (there’s a date in our contract) so posting here instead. Now I can get excited 🙂 The Gen Ed teacher in the room is out on maternity leave until the fall though so i can’t start planning with her yet. I will have to move all my stuff down to that room (& find room for it) but I think it’s going to be a great change & challenge!
  10. I’m so sorry. We’ve walked that road too and it’s terrible.
  11. Neighborhood beach clean up Sat- raking, moving rocks, etc. cleaned up our camp and took apart/ moved 3 beds yesterday Today- 6 mike bike ride this morning
  12. I read 2 Colleen Hoover books to see what the hype was about and… no thanks. I prefer historical fiction. I enjoyed the Lions of Fifth Avenue last week. today I just started The Moonshiner’s Daughter. I found some Facebook group for book suggestions: historical fiction, thrillers, modern fiction and got a bunch of suggestions for my TBR list.

  15. Another thought is since this isn’t a traditional wedding anyways is to not do bouttiniers, corsages, etc- and just focus on the bride’s bouquet. Or just do a daisies for everyone else. I think you could find something at the farmers market for the bride. Have any neighbors with a garden?
  16. Lilacs or something that’s blooming now to pick? Anything in a nursery you could buy as plants? I don’t see an earthy woodsy girl wanting silk or fake flowers.
  17. Remember the thread we had awhile back about celebrities you thought were dead but they weren’t actually. yeah, I thought she was already
  18. Oh, I met Ani DeFranco in college- she played at our school and I was one of a few students who helped her set up and collect ticket money at the door.
  19. I live across the street from a very well known children’s book author and dh grew up next door to another one. Names you would recognize but I don’t want to post them here.
  20. Here at least most factory jobs that are summer only are posted with temp agencies- not the company themselves. Have they linked up with a temp agency to find them work? eta- dh has been a manager locally at 3 different factories and all hired thru temp agencies. Ds worked at another one summer- also a temp agency hire. The factory websites don’t indicate that they hire for summer. You have to apply through the temp agency.
  21. Lol I have a big shelf of those that belongs to ds 22. He hasn’t used them since he went to college and I don’t think my little ones will play those when they get older cause I don’t want to teach them how! Btdt.
  22. Oof really struggling lately. But- I hiked a small mountain today with a group of teachers as part of a science professional dev class. It was great! picture from the summit
