  3. OP, Have you seen this website? http://www.lowdosenaltrexone.org/ DD is on it her dose is 4.5 mg.My local compounding pharmacy did a seminar on it on Tuesday. I know a lot of GI dr's are using it for patients with GI issues. My DD the 1st week was not sleeping too well. Day 1 she took it at 9pm The 1st day she slept at 4 am,she and her brother finished school work and she aced her math test at 4 am! She hugged me later that afternoon and thanked me for homeschooling her. I spoke to the pharmacist that day who suggested doing it 1st thing in the am and that week was a little off but not like day 1 It is a compounded medication so make sure your insurance lets you get it,ours does not so I pay $50/month. Compared to a lot of other meds this is fairly cheap. You will have to experiment a bit to find out what works for you and how it affects any other meds you take. Hope this info helps you.
  4. My sons immunologist makes us wait till end of october to get it.He always says its best to get it a little later since the holidays brings people together and flu spreads faster than any other time. Ofcourse there have been years that it has come early but he likes us to wait as he feels its effective for 6 months. So every year we go a week before halloween to get it.
  5. :grouphug: :grouphug: :grouphug: So sorry to hear this,Sending prayers your way!
  6. Amira, I have nothing to add, except wow you have been on a roll trying out various new things! So interesting to read. Did you try the dates stuffed with almonds?I know its available where you are. My Fil lived there for 10 years and every visit he brought us the dates. I am going to go read your blog now!
  7. Floradix works great for me. Ferrous sulfate did nothing for me. Novaferrum worked wonders for my DD,her GI put her on it. Here is the link http://www.novaferrum.com/shop/novaferrum-50-otc/ I bought in from Amazon. GL,I hope you find one that works.
  8. Sorry Amira I did not see this question.if you have not already eaten the drumsticks they are not viscous.
  9. Amira, What quark and Thrusday next said. They are Moringa oleifera They are quite tough so pressure cook for 20-30 minutes. I am assuming you have the fresh ones and you can even cook(cut1st) them with lentils. if that is what you are making. So after you cook them they open up and then you can use a scoop to eat the flesh and seed,no the peel is not eaten
  10. :hurray: Wow beautiful! My DD loves to crochet as well!
  11. Arctic Mama we had the same problem with our whirlpool, the repair man found a lot of blockage. It turned out to be the detergent that was causing a blockage. It was drying up inside and the repair man pulled out a ton (he pulled out 1/2 gallon ziploc bag) of detergent that got dried up inside. I was using finish and sometimes cascade. i think other people reported the same problem with those brands. I now changed to Oxiclean crystals and have not had an issue since.
  12. Amira, I have tried the recipes from Curried Favors: Family Recipes from South India by Maya Kaimal. If I remember right she did have a few of the north indian staples. I own Dakshin: Vegetarian Cuisine from South India by Chandra Padmanabhan Both are good,I do like Dakshin a lot and have used it a lot. Go easy on the black pepper though. There are some good blogs and you tube videos as well. Edited to add: Maya Kaimal has another book Savoring the spice coast that might be more Keralite cooking in it. Dakshin is mostly recipes from the state of Tamil nadu.
  13. Pinkmint I am sorry to hear about the charter school. You have gotten great advice. Did you check the books I sent you? After you take care of yourself look at them you will find, The Phonics book The telling time, The writing skills, The reading skills books will help one or both your kids IF they need to learn them. Those books are a good starting point for them without you having to invest in any other books for at least 6 months, There are grade 3 books in that bundle as well. :grouphug: :grouphug:
