  1. I don’t think your list for today is unreasonable at all for an adult who lives in your home rent free. I do think a conversation about division of labor amongst the 3 of you is in order, though.
  2. That would absolutely irritate me! I don’t have a solution for you, though.
  3. Yep. No blowup, but everyone seems to be too busy with getting back to co-op activities and get togethers to care that we’re falling apart over here. The pandemic, combined with my oldest coming out as a transgender female, has shown us that we really don’t have many true friends. And the ones we do have are too busy for us. It’s sad, exhausting emotionally, and very lonely even for the introverts in the house. And as we’re helping care for my 90yo and 86yo grandparents and helping out my mom and dad, who has had a liver transplant, pretending life is back to normal isn’t an option for us.
  4. Agree! Also, the headaches didn’t happen to start after his exposure to her did they? Because headache is a Covid symptom.
  5. Eleventy-billion, with an extra billion or two for the 9yo who adores “cute outfits” and changes clothes multiple times per day. I may need to join you in downsizing. My teens do half of the laundry, though, so I’m not as motivated as I once would have been to get it done.
  6. I just came across this, probably while on a rabbit trail that began with Pam’s links. I don’t know if it addresses what you’re looking for as I haven’t explored much, but thought I would share the link in case you wanted to check it out yourself. https://mediaeducationlab.com/planet-propaganda
  7. Eeeeew! That would definitely make me pay attention next time!
  8. When the pandemic started and I was planning and shopping for a couple of weeks’ worth of groceries at a time I was having that problem. I resorted to using a black sharpie to make a large X on anything I didn’t want them eating because it was an ingredient for something specific. It worked surprisingly well and took me barely any time to do. It doesn’t help you now, but maybe in the future?
  9. Some, or maybe all, stores have separate shoppers and delivery drivers. So the person who shopped your order is not the same person who will drive it to you.
  10. I skipped it because of the title, so thanks for the recommendation because I love it. And it’s the guy from A Different World!
  11. I had ground beef and broccoli slaw stir fry for lunch. I brown the beef and while it’s draining I sauté the broccoli slaw in sesame oil with a bit of ginger and garlic. Add the beef back in and squirt a bit of Bragg’s liquid aminos or soy sauce in. You could eat it over rice, but I’m on a low carb diet so I just eat it alone. I do have to fight 2 of the kids for my fair portion, though. It’s one of two recipes I can make with broccoli in them that my 9yo will eat; the other is broccoli cheese soup.
  12. You tell your husband to find a recipe and cook it if he wants to keep one so much!
  13. I would make pans and pans of this and eat it for every meal. https://smittenkitchen.com/2013/07/peach-and-pecan-sandy-crumble/
  14. I’ve learned so much from you over the years. Thank you for continuing to blog, and for continuing to answer questions here!
  15. This sounds excellent! Thanks for mentioning it. I’m almost done with the first episode and it is so well done! We’re definitely adding this for our government studies this semester.
  16. I wouldn’t worry about the playground at all if no one else is using it. The bathrooms would make me nervous, but for the benefits to mental health I would be willing to mask and use them as fast as possible. If you’re at the beach I would make everyone pee in the water 😬 and only use the bathroom if they have to poop.
  17. Please tell me more?! This sounds like a fantastic way to spend my oldest’s senior year (next year).
  18. I am SO glad you responded to this. I missed that we weren’t talking about the H.G. Wells book and thought I had really screwed up the analysis of the book and planned to reread. I didn’t really enjoy it, though, so I’m happy to not have to do that! lol
  19. For us I think it’s mostly because, living in NY, winter has been so long already and warm weather is still really far away. It’s spring fever, exacerbated by getting back to serious schoolwork after a break for Christmas. This past February was the first good one I’ve had since I started homeschooling, and then the pandemic started. Ugh!
  20. Yes! I have wasted so many hours of my life on this!
  21. Actually, prepare yourself to take a school break for all of February! If you’re lucky it won’t happen to you, but it’s a thing. February burn out and spring fever hitting at once makes for a rough month for a lot of us!
