  1. When I miscarried I had a d&c in the hospital. I'm so sorry for your loss.
  2. This troubles me. IMO, her son is old enough to apologize and make amends with the neighbor.
  3. So now I have to ask--did you think that the majority of the responses here would agree with you or not?
  4. Why do you not see it as cruel? I really, really understand yappy, barking dogs but shooting one has never crossed my mind. Why are you apologizing for your son? not being snarky--really curious as to your thought processes here
  5. Regardless of who bought the bb gun it would be gone at this point. Ds would be over at the neighbor's home immediately apologizing and offering some way to make this up. I would be baking some bread or cookies or something to smooth it over. My neighbors have a yappy dog--he barks ALL THE TIME. It is their baby and they treat it as if it is human.
  6. Dinners in no particular order... Chicken Pad Thai Shrimp Tacos Chicken Strips Chef Salad Spaghetti Crab Cakes
  7. What's for lunch today? We had grilled cheese sandwiches for lunch What's your weather like today? We got some rain and it cooled things off for a little bit. It's 90 right now and humid. Usually, by this time of the day it is already over 100. What do you do when you, as the teacher, are unmotivated? Most of the time just buckle down and do what needs to be done. Other times we take an easy day and read or watch a video that is related to our studies.
  8. We have been to the school days for several years. It is a lot of fun and nothing offensive. Be sure and bring extra $$ for the games/activities.

  10. I had a $10 drop recently on a nesting block toy for the baby. I was very happy about that!
  11. We use cloth, too. I change about 10-12 diapers a day. He goes to bed at 7-7:30 and gets changed at 11 and again around 5 and 7 and then he is up for the day and we start all over.
  12. So tired of it! It's almost 7 pm and it's still 106. Everything around here is dead, brown, dry. So many fires are being reported. We had 2 fires this week and several before that. Our volunteer fire depts. are being pushed passed capacity. Even the city fire depts. are asking for physical donations. We really need some rain and cooler weather!
  13. The Apple Dumpling Gang. My mom was pregnant w/my youngest sister and my other sister and I argued who was going to call the baby 'our little apple dumpling'.
  14. "Why did you do all this for me?" he asked. "I don't deserve it. I've never done anything for you." "You have been my friend," replied Charlotte. "That in itself is a tremendous thing. I wove my webs for you because I liked you. After all, what's a life, anyway? We're born, we live a little while, we die... By helping you, perhaps I was trying to lift up my life a trifle. Heavens knows anyone's life can stand a little of that." Charlotte's Web by E.B. White 1952
  15. kettle spicy cayenne and cheddar chips and heath candy bar
  16. I don't remember how long they are, but what about the Ramona and Beezus books?
  17. It started about 3 months postpartum and lasted about 6 weeks.
  18. The Screwtape Letters by C.S. Lewis (we are reading this as a family) and The Curse of the Holy Pail by Sue Ann Jaffarian. It was free on kindle. I read on the couch or in the bedroom. It's so hot--I've been drinking water or cokes.
  19. No, I don't censor. I think censoring takes away from the character that the author has created. Not everyone in the world is nice and sweet and well-spoken. If I had to censor what I was reading to my child and could not use it as a character lesson I would examine why I was reading the book to my child in the first place.
  20. Last: Bubba and the Dead Woman by C.L. Bevill Now: The Screwtape Letters by C.S. Lewis and In Front of God and Everybody (The Confessions of April Grace) by K.D. McCrite Next: The Pastor's Wife by Jennifer Allee or The Golden Acorn by Catherine Cooper or maybe Invisible by Lorna McCourtney
