  1. Yes, we finally have a name picked out. We had a girl name picked out, but we were having problems coming up with a boy name that we could both agree on. So, of course, that meant we were having a boy ;) Actually our son came up with it and we're both like 'yes, that's perfect!' It was a very exciting day in our home. We found out 2 weeks later that we were having a boy!
  2. I don't think spanking is the answer to stop his head-butting but, yes you do need to do more to stop the behavior. He needs to learn boundaries and appropriate behavior. The next person he head-butts or rams may not be a family member...
  3. My son went to a private Classical Christian school from K-4th. It was one of the worst mistakes I think I have ever made as a parent. I wish I would have started homeschooling from the beginning. I also worked at this school so I knew a lot of background info that most parents did not know. Money talks--a blind eye and a deaf ear was turned to any discipline problem when the family had money. Just because it was a Christian school didn't mean everyone there (staff included) had a Christ-like attitude. Yes, many public school students with serious problems were enrolled if their parents provided the money. Yes, there were drugs, alcohol and sex going on. Athletics became the priority. By the time we left it had basically become a school with a Bible class thrown in. We have been gone for a couple of years and have watched their problems become bigger and bigger.
  4. is coming on again tonight 7 cst on the History channel.

  7. You can block him so you won't see his posts. Go to privacy settings and click on Block list. Type his name--if it's common you may have to go through a few before you find him.
  8. Congratulations!! I will be praying for you! I completely understand the 'pins and needles' feeling. I had one healthy pregnancy and then a miscarriage in 1998. I am now 15 weeks pregnant and I am finally starting to settle down and not worry so much.
  9. 0-6 was the worst here. Now on the brink of 13 it has been easy peasy! I hope it stays that way!
  10. It could be your blood pressure. I would give the dr. a call.
  11. Well you just never know...I recently found out I was pg(due in September). My one and only will turn 13 a month after this baby is born (!!!!) Best wishes!!
  12. I'm looking for something like this, too. I hope we get some good responses.
  13. Different insurance policies pay differently. Even within the same company the policies can/are different. We just happen to have an insurance policy that picks up most of the tab on dh's machine/supplies.
  14. I would just keep reading to her--not necessarily from the book you are using but just read books to her and let her enjoy the story.
  15. We are using it this year. Ds is 12 and he understands the lessons and the humor.
  16. Yes, we used our insurance but there was no deductible either time--we just paid the part that the insurance didn't cover. The first time was Aetna and the last machine was bought using BCBS thru the state of TX. I wish I had more info for you. I would hope since he so seriously needs the machine that the sleep clinic/dr. would be willing to let him try one out for a trial period or something...
  17. Dh has sleep apnea and he got his machine from the sleep center. He's been using his for about 12 years now. He buys filters/hoses, etc. from a medical supply company. Our insurance pays for 2 hoses a year. I think the last machine(he's on his 2nd) was around $200. It's the one w/the humidifier. Have you asked either place about a payment plan? I hope something can be worked out so your dh can get the machine asap.
