  1. I'm so sorry. I hope you and he both can both get rest soon.
  2. I've met several people who believe in chem trails and one flat earth person but haven't yet encountered a fake moon landing person. My DH has his hobby pilot's license and he'll sometimes be asked about seeing the curvature of the earth from the plane. I once watched part of an elaborate video demonstration of how the earth is flat and how that works. It was amazing in its detail but so very wrong.
  3. I was 9 when Elvis died. My best friend was staying with us because her mom was in labor with her sister. Her mom was a huge fan of Elvis and had a scrapbook and I had never heard of him. I don't remember how old I was when the Sunshine Bridge in Tampa collapsed. My uncle took that bridge about half the time he went to work and my aunt had no idea which bridge he had taken that morning. I had to go to school and I didn't want to go but they made me go. I rushed home to great relief that he'd taken a different bridge and was fine. I was home sick when Reagan was shot. The room was dark and I didn't feel well and I didn't really understand what everyone was talking about. When the Challenger exploded, I was in math class. All the science classes were watching it live and one of the students ran into our class and shouted the news. He was typically the class prankster so we didn't believe him at first. Then it was very somber. When the Columbia disintegrated, I was out of town visiting my sister. We were rushing back to her house so we could watch the landing when we heard the news on the radio. Then we slowed down because we really didn't want to go home to her house anymore. I was at work when 9/11 happened. My boss had a tv in his office and we all huddled around it. Once they started saying the towers would collapse, none of us wanted to watch it. But none of us could walk away either. That's probably one of the worse days of my life. It's interesting how these tragedies really capture the moment and sear themselves into your brain. Sounds, smells, sight, feeling.
  4. Well great. I decided to be helpful and Googled the phrase "short video for what happens if you don't set goals". Want to know what came back as the very top result? A video about how goals are dumb and to set objectives instead. It's a clip out of a larger video so I watched it. Interesting concept because he says goals can either limit how far you go or you can fail and lose your self-worth. He advocates setting objectives instead because they are limitless. So maybe find different terminology for the same concept as goals? Like objectives as in the video? Or intentions. Or paths. I prefer "aiming" type language instead of goals. The rocket ship and moon phraseology that if you aim for nothing, you'll reach it. But if you want to go to the moon, you have to aim for it.
  5. The bank got all my details and told me it would take 2 banking cycles to show up. At the same time, I emailed the address on my order receipt to cancel the order. This morning, I have an email saying that it has shipped and can't cancel. I replied that their website has disappeared, their shipper information with Track718 is not found and I've submitted a claim with my bank. If I do in fact receive the product I ordered, I will cancel the claim but I doubt that will happen. Please do not worry that you posted the sale link and that I ordered. I knew I was taking a chance when I placed the order and knew I was taking a chance when I didn't immediately cancel before it "shipped". This has been a learning exercise for my kids as we've talked about it and the lesson is better than anything I lose.
  6. Alright Ladies - I gave up and called my bank to dispute the charge for my "Stanley Cups". I've been tracking the order daily and watching a shipping update every couple of days or so. Then today the website no longer came up on the internet and on the tracking website the "shipper" information had disappeared. Just thought y'all might like to know I threw in the towel on this one. 🙂
  7. I received an email today that my order has shipped and it included a shipping number. I can also go directly to the website and look up my order and see that the order status is "complete" and the tracking number is the same as in my email. I'm hoping................................. I'll let you know what and if I receive them.
  8. The return policy says you can cancel as long as your order hasn't shipped yet. This is the email address they list for contacting them to cancel the order: bradsdeals-us@shfgk.com I'm not vouching for them at all. I'm watching my credit card account and the order tracking to see what happens. I might end up wishing I'd canceled the order and my credit card but I want to wait a little longer and see what happens.
  9. How do we know this isn't a company in Hong Kong that bought out a bunch of BB&B product before it was shipped to stores? I've got my receipt by email. And when I go back to the website and track my order with my email address, it comes up with the order number that matches my receipt although it is listed as "unshipped". I could cancel the order because it hasn't shipped yet. But it seems like I"m going to get something....or maybe it's knock off Stanley cups?
  10. Thank you!!!!!! I just ordered a bunch for Christmas presents.
  11. Yikes!!!!!! I'm sorry about your car accident. Glad no surgery is needed. Wishing you good pain meds and a good recovery!!!!
  12. I would definitely pay for the pre-booked seats. We have kids but even without kids, I'd want my DH with me for that long of a flight. If it were a short jaunt, I might or might not (although my DH still would because he prefers the aisle seat). My DH had to change a flight last week on Delta and while he prebooked his seat on the original flight, he wasn't able to prebook a seat on the changed flight. He ended up on the last row of the plane and in the middle. Not his favorite.
  13. We turn off the water main to our house even for 1 night away. We've had several water issues while we were home and take no chances that it would happen while we were away. Broken pipes, copper pipe pinhole leaks, hot water tank that unloaded it's entire load in the middle of the night, big storm that caused us to install french drains. Water damage is so big and so fast!! Yep. We turn off the water every time. ETA: and a dehumidier that quit emptying into its bucket and instead ran across the floor.
  14. That's a lot. Hugs!!!!!!! If we were neighbors, I'd let you cry although I'd probably also try and feed you cookies and chocolate.
  15. Where is that group located? Is it called "Elderly Care Club"?
  16. I'm crazy. Purchased so far an acupressure mat and a french fry cutter. Currently being considered: an electric Mason jar sealer and Swedish cleaning cloths. Can those things be embroidered? If they can, they'd make great Christmas gifts. Edited to add: also considering size 5 soccer balls and cloth "pads" to go in my Operation Christmas Child boxes. Further edited: these are purchased!! I'm getting Christmas shopping done!
  17. No idea where to donate them but I do want to empathize with you because I have a large hook in my utility room full of them because I too keep them because I "might" need them in the future.
  18. Praying for you and your husband. I hope the doctors can figure out what is causing it.
  19. Bless your heart!!! I'd definitely get a new therapist. Maybe even 2 new therapists. Whatever you need to work with grief, depression and your husband's clutter. And also help you work through your options and come to terms with them instead of telling you what to do. I'm sorry your therapist pushed you so hard. p.s. your photo isn't shocking to me. That looks like every one of my husband's spaces in the house. I'm territorial though and remove his clutter from the main areas of the house. There's a designated spot in each one of his spaces (bedroom, basement office, tool area, leftover building/project supplies etc.) that I will return stuff to.
  20. I've never heard of an indicator globe. Awesome job!!!!! I backed my minivan up my parents' winding uphill driveway and into their 1-car garage because there's an overflow of cars preventing turn around. Twice!!! The guys all told me not to worry that they'd get my van turned around for me and that just made me more determined to back up the drive. I was ridiculously proud of myself. 🙂
  21. 9 foot ceilings would be the first thing I'd give up. Then separate DR, LR and den. We have 2 acres and no HOA and wouldn't trade it for anything. The 8 foot ceilings bother me sometimes. And having a LR/DR combo frustrates me although we do have a small separate den. I do get envious sometimes when I go inside my friends' houses with their 9 or 10 foot ceilings and all the separate rooms but then I walk outside and see their yards and I am reminded. I'd rather have 2 acres and no HOA. We have a pool and enjoy it. I never thought I wanted a pool until we had one and we had kids and experienced the ease of getting in the pool anytime the mood strikes even multiple times a day. But if there were a neighborhood pool or community pool close by, I might give that up. Might. 2 acres and no HOA would be my non-negotiables from your list.
  22. I'm sorry. Peace be with you.
  23. I don't have any advice but I'm sorry for your loss.
