  1. For pure deep chocolate flavor, this cake wins, hands down. It is a very dense, rich cake; I think the recipe could easily be doubled to give you a four-layer version. Despite its unprepossessing name, it is the best I've ever had; a bakery cake's never even come close.
  2. So, because I'm nosy like that, I went and read the citation Little Izumi mentioned...and it says clearly, that the Father, Son, and Holy Ghost are one, and that the Father and the Son are one. 'Splain to me how that is non-trinitarian, please? :D (I don't want or intend an argument--I really just like explanations.):)
  3. When we entered the Orthodox Church this spring, we all needed sponsors, or godparents, even though we were not being rebaptized. The godparents promise to make sure the person is being taught (and is living!) the Orthodox faith, so it's important that they actually BE Orthodox. :001_smile:
  4. I have a Brazilian friend. I will send her over here to look at this thread. :)
  5. :iagree::iagree: My mom bought me a pair as an early Christmas present--love them! :D Comfy and cool...
  6. I'd go, with or without dd14, as you feel moved to persuade her. :001_smile:
  7. W have two females in a cage such as you describe, and ours also spend large amounts of time out socializing, plus, ds and dd are (separately) constructing some rat-runs. :tongue_smilie: I think you can probably find what you need at petsmart, but it may cost you a fair bit. Our current setup, while not fancy AT ALL, set us back $100 a couple years ago. I'd anticipate your needing maybe double that to get the setup you want. Ferret cage would work if the bars are close together enough--rats are smart as well as escape artistes! :001_smile:
  8. My ds4 loves Curious George, as well as Paddington, Wolf Story (best audiobook ever for little boys, IMO, though unfortunately hardish to come by), Pooh, and whatever older people's books we listen to in the car. :tongue_smilie:
  9. I just want to say that while I am theologically very distant from you LDS ladies, I am always appreciative of your "internal" discussions being posted on the board for all to see. I find the intersection of faith, politics (sorta), feminism, etc. that you discuss interesting, enlightening, and educational. So, thanks--I love it, all of it!:D
  10. Congrats to the Mama Geek family! :D
  11. Posted this on my catholic homeschoolers loop--thanks for sharing! :D
  12. I wouldn't worry. I think MCT is more organized than PLL. The main this that's left out is punctuation. How good is your dc's understanding of that? That'd be the thing I'd do. :001_smile:
  13. Susan in KY said: I agree, this is the salient point, and one which is generally overlooked in these discussions. :(
  14. Bethany,:grouphug::grouphug: for working this out so carefully. You're in a difficult position because the counsel and conviction YOU feel you've received from the Spirit is coming contrary to your position and conviction on submitting to your dh. In your situation, which trumps? The will of The Lord or the will of the husband? I think this is the real question you need to consider. :grouphug::grouphug::grouphug:
  15. Oops. Quoting from iPad glitch strikes again. You figured out what I meant, though, right? :)
  16. Yeah, even my little local two-bit zoo has wallabies. :001_smile:
  17. Agreeing with Ravin. The blanket will keep you warm, but the feathers may poke through and poke you. I advise a good quality duvet.
