  1. Nope but we just moved here in November and I pulled her out in March. I will join a group that opens registration in the summer.
  2. DH is away at school for the Army so it will be just me and the kids (yet again). The school is close to his mother so she will have an awesome day.
  3. DS will be 7 in July and we are planning on getting her a Kindle Fire for her birthday. The books will be cheaper and she can borrow e-readers from the library with it.
  4. Try a compromise and shoot for 8:30.
  5. I'd feel weird playing it outside. Game of thrones is pretty "porn-y" I felt weird knowing my mom watches it now and never bothered to catch up after season two because of having to listen to it on volume 1 for fear my kids would hear the moans and cussing through our closed door. Maybe you could gift them the books series for outside entertainment (much better in my opinion anyway) lol
  6. My general rule is if I'm dressed enough to need a bra then I will usually add a little lift to my face too lol
  7. Probably our last duty station. We've already moved 5 times in the last 8 1/2 years by the time retirement comes we will probably opt to just stay put so I pray it isn't someplace crappy. ETA But right now I'd love to move back to VA we had a pretty chill life there.
  8. All you extended nursers are awesome. With my youngest I went to 25 months, 8 months later I still feel guilty and wished I didn't give in to societal standards by forcing him too ween. He still asks for mommy milk and RUNS to them if he happens to catch me in the middle of changing shirts.
  9. I found 3 random gray hairs in the middle of my head, tweezed them and rocked back and forth in a corner of my bathroom for hours so I can't help you on the graceful part lol but I think you should try to conjure up an image of the ideal you at your age then work or budget towards your goal. If you are fine as is keep repeating it until the desire to conform passes. What ever end of the spectrum you find yourself on it should define what YOU feel true beauty looks like because simply trying to fit in at any age is never worth it.
  10. That is heartbreaking for everyone involved, it's nothing but a situation full of victims (except the parents). I'm really sorry.
  11. Thank you! I've checked most of them out and a couple I remember seeing in passing but would not have remembered the titles for the life of me! I now have a place to start in weeding out spaghetti from the monthly rotation FOREVER lol
  12. Do you follow any specific food and recipe bloggers? I know there are millions floating out there but do you have a favorite or two? I like Budget Bytes and Nom Nom Paleo but am looking for other sites to give me ideas for more wholefood recipes.
  13. What?! Are trying to imply the source actually matters.....
  14. What exactly do you look for in the very beginning?
  15. Just praying the light at the end of your family's tunnel is bright and forth coming :grouphug:
  16. My very first job was a waitress and every-single-time I said my name, the customer would ask "Just like Whitney Houston?.....Can you sing?! Where's Bobby?" Ughh those were the longest 2 years of my life!
  17. You say too. I'm just curious if Sterling had never been recorded and no out lash caused would Shaq's amends be enough to fix his gaffe? Would the fact that he made a mistake, realized it, personally apologized sincerely enough for the victim to forgive, be enough?
  18. So I'm confused? Is the black guy who made a mistake, accidently, with no mal intent, not knowing the man was disabled, made a face in a photo, next to the man's picture, who Shaq thought was photo shopped, meaning not real, changed in many ways being compared to Sterling? What exactly are we comparing? They are both wrong but for completely different reasons and on completely different levels so why should the public's reaction be anything but completely different?.....Oh right.....
  19. FYI rap music and music in general that is targeted to the AA community is an end result and not a true representation of the entire said community, It is the choice of the top (very top) record CEO and owners that "black music" promotes certain unhealthy ways of thinking and perpetuates demeaning stereotypes. Certain rappers who made it high enough in the business to be granted the right to have more control of what they could release have been denied approval because their music was too POSITIVE. AA singers who sing about uplifting and glorifying talents and gifts instead of simply being a receptacle for men don't make it very far. Media is a just another tool to systematically keep people right where you want them. Your comment shows how well their strategy works because if someone from the outside who's not even the targeted recipient of the messages of rap/r&b music are encouraged to believe black people are ignorant, ghetto, crime prone etc. imagine what it does to the psyche of the people who have steadily internalized it since birth? Its easy to look on the surface and condemn and be disgusted but many times its the wrong group being condemned. No one is with out fault and every one should be accountable for their own action but a little compassion for the under dogs can sometimes work wonders.
