  1. I'm so incredibly sorry for your loss. Lifting your family up in prayer.
  2. I went to a pain specialist for mine. I've done steroids and most recently injections.
  3. $300.00 to cool around 3000 sq feet. We have a really efficient A/C unit too. We keep the house around 70.
  4. I'd love to try this out with my two older boys, 10 & 12. This looks great! We are trudging through workbooks with little retention.
  5. I take 4mg up to 4 times a day and haven't experienced what you mentioned above. It can make me tired, but not always, so other things must be factors. I've tried all the muscle relaxers you listed and this one is the only one that helps.
  6. Yep! At least in my area. My kids are the lowest gift givers amongst the kids at birthday parties. I do $35-40 gift and often other kids are giving 50-75 cash. I can't bring myself to join that club. My boys are only 10&12. I thought spending $40 was a lot!
  7. I started at 30 mg and within a week increased to 60. My side effects are too much for me at 60mg so I am currently sticking with 30 mg. I am wide awake most the night when I take 60mg as well as my sweating is horrible. The downside is 30 mg doesn't get rid of all my anxiety or my pain.
  8. No, I wouldn't do it even though your child may feel fine in a week. (One of mine felt 100% better within three days my other son took a full three weeks to recover). Both kids had post surgery bleeding that required trips to the ER. If you said you had a sit on the beach vacation planned.....I would say maybe. Disney requires so much physical exertion. I wouldn't risk it
  9. We met at 19 and married at 21. First baby came when I was 22. This is a tough question for me. We struggled.....a lot for the first 5-7 years. Sometimes, I think had we waited to marry we would have avoided so much drama between us. What changed things for the better with us was life experience and maturity. In some ways it's brought us closer to experience a lot of struggles together.
  10. I've taken Cymbalta on/off for several years. It is one of only a few drugs that helps my anxiety so I take. That said, I find it hell to go on or off of it. Yes, side effects like stomach ache and feeling off (extra energy in my body feeling) does get better. The sweeting for me & others I know on the drug doesn't get better, you just learn to manage it. (Carry deodorant & an extra shirt at all times) The biggest trouble with Cymbalta is if you need to go off of it. In order to not experience pretty rough withdrawal symptoms you would have to slowly taper off the med dose. It doesn't come in small enough doses to do this and you are technically not supposed to open the capsule and remove some. Withdrawal from this med takes weeks and some people report lasting withdrawal effects. A side note. This is not a medication you want to take if you are planning a pregnancy of not preventing pregnancy.
  11. http://www.guesthollow.com/homeschool/science/anatomy_jr/jr_anatomy_curriculum.html I really like the above curriculum for the middle school crowd.
  12. I've taken it for migraines and had no side effects. I still got hungry/ate normally. I was taking 6-8 a day which is probably much more than your mom would need. I have no experience with the medication & the elderly. It is a very common medication used to treat headaches.
  13. Nope, watching drug use causes me a sick feeling inside. I much prefer light comedy.
  14. I used it last year with my three boys, 7, 10, and 12. We all liked it. My kids don't read for fun and they didn't find the reading to take to long. 20-30ish minutes each day. I'm looking to sell ours if anyone is interested. My older son used the middle school supplement. We had the Bible supplement but didn't end up using that.
  15. You should be able to get a good idea of the cost involved before the appointment. I would confirm what your Psych coverage is and that the testing is covered under your insurance plan. Also, that your doctor is in network. Our insurance was billed around $4000 and our out of pocket cost was $225.00.
  16. I'm so sorry. I've heard similar comments when we suffered a loss. People should really think before they speak. Big hugs.
  17. Praying & hoping things improve quickly.
  18. My mom had an e coli infection that lasted months. Doctors kept having her take antibiotics and said it would eventually go away. Her symptoms got worse and she ended up in the ER. The ER doc ran tests to determine the specific e coli strand and found that she had a very resistant strand that required IV medication. Oral antibiotic were useless for what she was dealing with. She had a port put in & had IV meds for about a week. I hope your daughter feels better soon!!
  19. My friends daughter had a bad concussion that required them to visit a concussion clinic. They used computer testing to determine what was causing the headaches following the concussion. In her case, they found, when she shifted her eyes from looking down to straight ahead, she experienced headaches. (She could do it some, but not a lot without developing a headache). My friend loved that place and really credits her daughter's recovery to the help they provided.
  20. A neighbor of mine needed something scanned, I don't recall what body part. The doctor accidentally checked the box to have her brain scanned. It turned out she had a large mass. The doctors caught it in time and were able to remove it. She is still doing great. (She also, showed no signs. I don't know the specifics of her mass but I am hopeful you husband's mass is treatable and/or removable) Doctors can do SO much these days. I say this so gently, try not to put the cart before the horse and handle each piece of info as it comes. I know.....easier said then done. And NO, don't Google this!!! Get some info first, so you know what your dealing with, then, you can research . Sending you a big virtual hug. You may want to get a notebook started and begin to log everything. You will possibly have a lot of info thrown at you. Wishing the very best outcome for you DH!! Blessings

  22. I just ordered dh tall workout clothes from Hanes. He really likes them & the quality was great for the low price we paid.
  23. I've got 3 medicated, plus DH! You are not a failure! Quite the opposite, you are doing what's needed so each of your children can navigate life without this unneeded struggle. (Not suggesting they won't have struggles- meds really can help though with certain things)
