How about slow start AP Calc BC along with some stats or discrete math? If you really want solid Calc 1 and Calc 2 equivalents (higher echelon colleges) it may be worth starting sooner and go beyond AP Calc BC by the end of next year. (using MIT or other options).

Big Ideas Math company was started by Larson and I believe their text books try be Common Core compliant. I get a little nervous when a HS level course has no textbook just the online notes. Which usually cover material in less depth and detail. For example some of the BYU math courses use a textbook some do not.

What states would you consider? Most folks these days don't do nation wide searches - especially in a transfer situation. The in-state public universities probably have programs available to help with the process. As others have mentioned make sure the program is ABET. IMO a BS Mechanical Eng degree with Aerospace specialization would be preferable for job placement.

Not all of Easy Peasy is overtly Christian. I peeked at their HS Math it seemed fine. Maybe you can help your friend pick and choose some courses from all the suggestions. It can be done pretty cheap but the checking/correcting alone is a lot of work.

I looked at the preview - it looked identical to me except for the new Forward (from memory since my Math teacher mother owns it in another state). I think the price $79.99 for the student text is a little high considering it is just a reprint. Hopefully it did not cost a fortune to acquire the rights for an out of print text book.
