My hole was too big it's working now.

My dumb question.. How does the pinhole viewer work? It's made, but what I'm seeing is just the light coming through the pinhole. What am I missing?

Thanks to whoever keeps talking about the book SPARK

I'm currently reading it after hearing about it here too, I've been learning quite a bit! I think it was Soror or Sadie that recommended it. -
Children's Place, Target, Gymboree, Lands End, and JC Penney are currently where I find clothes for my daughter. I LOVE Mini Boden, but have only gotten those for her on consignment. She may like Justice, its not really my style but my daughter does enjoy window shopping there.

Most of the friends of my kids are neighbors or from church. We also randomly met a family at the library a few years ago and have become good friends with them. I will say only my oldest (9) has a strong need/desire for close friends. My younger two kids have fun with whoever they are around at the time but don't seem to need that one best friend. It does take effort on my part to get the kids together with their friends. As far as activities, we have tried several and my kids have fun while there but they haven't made any actual friends except when I made the effort. I took the time to get the phone number and then set up a time to get together. Good luck!

Don't let the kids ride in there. 😉 Seriously though we don't eat in our car and I vacuum it or have it vacuumed every 2-4 weeks and I haven't figured this out yet. We actually have leather seats though and I just spent yesterday afternoon getting it clean once again and making the kids each clean their seat. My husband rarely has the kids in his truck and when I ride in there I'm a bit jealous of how clean it is. We have a shop vac, it works pretty well on everything but dog hair. I don't have all weather mats but my husband does in his truck and I keep saying I'm switching. The custom ones are pricey though and the cheap ones don't fit our floor right so I haven't done it yet.

I've never run into that thinking before. -
My sister has few memories, we love to tease her about it. I swear my dad remembers everything from his childhood. I'm somewhere in the middle.

Are we crazy because we're taking 5 young kids to see the eclipse?

I don't think you are crazy, you know your kids. Enjoy! -

Help! What do you keep from each school year?
Rachel replied to luvbug in Ohio's topic in The Chat Board
My state requires it, it's the only documentation they require though. I agree that it's ridiculous. -

I keep my letter of intent with proof of receipt, attendance record, schedule, and sample of each subject from beginning, middle, and the end of the year. -
If they haven't paid, bring up the concerns for the grandparents, they might have a plan. If they have paid, then ask if you can help figure out an idea for helping the grandparents. Do not mention anything about the food unless asked.

I like trekking poles (2), look up how to use them properly on YouTube. Once I learned how to use the correctly, if made a huge difference in hiking a long distance. I always carry at a minimum water, snacks, compass, and whistle. I generally have more than that with me though. I have hiking boots and trail runners. I have found that except on muddy trails, I prefer the trail runners. This depends of course on the trail and the distance you are going.

x-post: College as cheap as possible? Update in #51
Rachel replied to regentrude's topic in The Chat Board
Oh and for scholarships, see if any local clubs have scholarships. I pieced together two years of tuition through a bunch of small scholarships. Lion's Club, Elks, Kiwanis, even local businesses are a few places to check. -

You may want to see if your state has any programs for first generation college students? What about the university? Even if they don't have scholarships, it may be helpful to have the support. First generation students are at higher risk of not completing their degrees. I'm really thankful you are helping this person out, some people just need a person who believes in them. It sounds like you are doing that for this girl. -

Yes, check to see if the school she wants to attend offers tuition assistance to full time employees. The university I used to work for would pay for 2 classes per semester. They still offer that benefit but now also offer tuition discounts at 10% per year of service for a maximum of 50% off after 5 years which can be used by the employee or by family members. There is a small private college near me that also offers free tuition to employees and their children although I don't know the details.
