  1. I had forgotten until you mentioned them, but I remember now!
  2. I used to watch that show with the 2 British ladies who would come in a filthy home and clean it up. Wish I could remember the name. 1 of the ladies really freaked me out because she'd do all kinds of crazy things, like swipe her bare finger under their toilet bowl rim to show how nasty it was. EEK!!!! I always wondered if they kept their houses clean post show or not too.
  3. I cleaned mine about 2 weeks ago, and it blew a fuse. My husband replaced the fuse, but it turns out it also caused a short of some kind, so now the oven is acting crazy. It turns itself on and runs, the clock won't work, etc. It will probably cost more money to fix than it's worth because it's so old. So now we're oven-less until we can buy a new one, probably next month. Yay us! Lots of meals cooked in the crockpot, on the grill, or on the cooktop for us, looks like. I'm going to my grandparent's house to borrow the oven to bake my pumpkin pies today. Thank goodness I don't host Thanksgiving dinner yet, we still go to our paren'ts houses for the holidays.
  4. I don't like it. As someone with very severe dog allergies, and asthma, I can't tell you how it drives me crazy to see people with their dogs in stores. I can't even get into my best friend's car because she takes her dog EVERYWHERE with her, so even if she does leave her dog at home for me, all the hair and dander left behind closes up my throat almost immediately. I mean, I get you love your dog and all, but guess what, I love the ability to breathe even more! The one exception to this would be a pet store, I would expect to see them there, and so consequently I never go to those kind of stores. But Target, or Kohl's or something? I think it's extremely selfish and unnecessary.
  5. I always loved my great-grandmother's names, one was Alice and the other was Bonnie. If I'd ever been blessed with a daughter, she would have had one of those names. I also like Virginia, Ruby, Clair, Ellen, and Violet. My middle name is Lorraine, I always liked that too. My grandma's name is Mildred, but she's always gone by Millie and since she's the sweetest grandma in the world, of course I love that too. Funny memory. With my last pregnancy we were tossing around names. I was considering Adrienne, because I remember a sweet older lady by that name from church, and plus I just love it. But my dh was like no way, people will go around saying "Yo Adrienne!" like the movie Rocky. Turns out he was a boy anyway, so no Rocky impersonations here lol.
  6. Another vote for Dress Barn. I was having a clothing crisis earlier this fall, and Dress Barn was recommended to me by this forum. I've been back several times now, and I always find lots of things I like. I actually purchase whatever's on sale, and I've slowly been building my wardrobe again. And I appreciate how helpful the sales clerks are.
  7. "Cheater, Cheater" by Joey and Rory cracks me up. Well, I should say it used to crack me up. I haven't heard it since she passed away though.
  8. My only experience with Tamiflu was HORRIBLE. We started our son, who was 13 at the time, on it per our doctor's suggestion. It was expensive, but all that the doctor said was how it would really help, he neglected to say anything about the side effects and how bad/common they are. My son, within hours of taking it, was OUT OF HIS MIND. I mean, delirious and saying stuff that made no sense. He was flopping around and falling out of his bed. I leaned over him, trying to help him drink some gatorade, and he picked up his lamp and was trying to drink from it, rather than the bottle I was holding. At one point he had some delirium and was fighting off an imaginary person. Scared us so bad we took him to the emergency room (which was no picnic as we all had the flu as well) only to find out that it was in fact the Tamiflu. Never again. Never never. Ever.
  9. What has been your experience? I've always bought new ink cartridges, but I feel like it's such a rip off when I hear about friends of mine that just go to Costco or wherever and get their cartridges refilled for way less money. One time, I went to Cartridge World and bought one of their cartridges, took it home and used it and within a week our printer quit printing. Had to go buy another printer, and we'd only had that one for about a year. Could be a coincidence, could be not. So what would you recommend? Keep paying astronomical prices (we print a lot of stuff), or take another chance?
  10. I love the Parent Trap! Not the later version though, only the original. What part did your aunt play?
  11. I bought an outfit at the Dress Barn! Yay! It's cute as it can be. Dark grey leggings, and the cutest blue and gray top. I love it! The clothes are my size in petite, well made, and modest, so I won't have to wear a tank underneath. And, I got them off the clearance rack. The pants and top together were just 30 dollars. I'll take it! I'll be on that side of town again in about 2 weeks or so, and fairly regular after that. If I can find a little something every time I'm there, I'll eventually get what I need, and all without blowing the budget. Thanks Hive! :cheers2:
  12. When I was a child, maybe 5 or so, I was on a popular show in Cincinnati. It had Captain Wendy, or something like that??? It's been long gone now, but I remember it being a pretty big deal during that time. They had local kids on their show all the time, so that was neat to get to go. I wish I could remember the name. The man and his wife-the captain-were kind of celebrities in this area. I met Naomi Judd once,in some kind of home goods store. It was in Atlanta, in '96 or so. She was as hateful as she could be! It was a small crowd there to see her, and she was mean to everybody apparently. When it was my turn, I was nervous and said something lame like nice to meet you or something, and boy, if looks could kill! She actually refused to say even a hello back. So I was not impressed. I've never been able to stomach her folksy gimmick she's got going on since then. I've met John Boehner a couple of times. He was always nice and friendly.
  13. Man, why didn't it make me happy when I had to take it? Lol. All I noticed was it made me hungry. Figures.
  14. ktgrok, I ended up running out of time and couldn't stop in. I was so disappointed! So now the plan is to run over tomorrow. I can't wait! I'll post tomorrow what I find. Thanks!
