  1. I needed a good smile from a busy, crzy week so i changed my avatar pictures(hopefully) to my beautiful ASD with her pig hat on  She is so patient with me!
  2. Until starting a training class, you should also have a health check done to rule out possible health issues leading to this and yes, even growing puppies can have health problems pop up. I would keep him tethered to you or your husband, it will reinforce the control of him and the situations that he or your son might be in as well as give you great oppurtunity's throughout the day to work on simple commands such as stay, sits and downs.
  3. You might also have her tested for pancreatitis. Panting, not eating, make sure that she is drinking. Hoping that she feels better soon know matter what. it can be very, very hard to find out what is wrong with our furry friends when testing is not always definitive! :grouphug:
  4. lost my computer last month so not sure if this will work but it is myself after a very long shift at work, over 14 hours! I had not actually slept but went right to my friends party. I am the one in a pony tail in the back. https://www.facebook.com/#!/photo.php?fbid=1054386089378&set=t.1489475392&type=3&theater https://www.facebook.com/media/set/?set=a.1654336526827.118789.1489475392&type=3&l=d279e11aa5 and this was second grade
  5. I am sure that you were informed that Lyme has increased this year a huge amount. With the hookworms, you can have breakthough amounts of worms show through in a fecal but the company claims that the Heartgard should treat the worms. However, I prefer Interceptor just with the unavailablilty of it right now is frustrating :( With hookworms they thrive and live in the soil for YEARS! So it is vital that as soon as your dog goes to the bathroom, you pick it up and throw it away. These parasites will not die in the cold, they will just wait until it is warmer. If you have been giving Aiden heartgard year round then i would have your vet contact heartgard company ASAP. The vet is easier to be the ones to do this as they can fill out the paperwork and show receipts that you have purchased the right amounts of the product. The company should pay for the testing (fecals) and any further testing and treatment for the hookworms. :grouphug:
  6. ditto here with the small dogs, terriers especially.
  7. male poodles have a high occurance of crystal formation, as well as bichons and a few other breeds. Somebody came in with 2 chessie puppies the other day and i though of you, they are so cute! I miss mine :(
  8. My children have been very happy with the Kleen Canteen water bottles. plus they like the bright colors that were offered!
  9. The food should help to dissolve her crystals before they form into stones. The blood is from the irritation from the crystals and possibly an infection as well. The antibiotics should help clear up the infection, the food should help the crystals and having a recheck urine sample done will let you know how she is fairing on the food then. If all of that checks out well you might not have anymore problems with her. Or she could have crystals turn to stones and she might need surgery to remove them. The surgery can help to determine the exact type of stone(if you choose to send it out to a lab), flush out the bladder and get any crystals or stones out of there. Her age depends more on her general health and breed. Some breeds are much more prone to crystal development then others. :grouphug: Also increasing her drinking can help her as well. Get that water into her!
  10. What rescue was this for btw? There are a few different ones and I can find out what happended for you maybe. I also sent you a pm about this.
  11. I am on my kindle but can write tomoorow. I have ASD's and work with the breed rescue. I also do many training classes with my pups and can give you some guidelines to work with. also you can join our yahoo group. I will send you the info tkmorrow.
  12. depends, are any of the critters with a flea prev.. Some pets do not react to a flea infestation until they are miserable so fleas oculd still be an issue and you are just not noitcing it yet. It is very simple to check for fleas so I would still do that as a first check. I would still recommend a vet visit. They would normally shave and clean up the sites and they would also be able to tell you if there are any signs of fleas or diagnose another reason such as allergies/ infection/etc.
  13. On many cats you will not see the fleas as cats are such great groomers. Most often you will see small flecks of black dirt. They sell very fine tooth flea combs that help get through the hair and if you find any debris like that drop it onto a white paperwtowel and moisten it. if it turns red that is flea dirt and means that you pet has been exposed to fleas. This would still be my first recommendation. :grouphug:
  14. Sounds like flea allergy dermatitus. Ecollar until her skin heals. Possible steroids to reduce itchiness and flea meds. I would recommend a vet visit for this as it could alsobe other things as well.
  15. We are fine and hubby at work is ok. I have no cell service and power keeps flickering though. The elmira tornado took off some roofs but last i heard no injuries.
  16. I have had my Dyson for 6 years now with no problems. However with coat blowing season sometimes those hairballs are too much with 2 ASD's in the house plus the rest of the critters. I did get a jam just a few weeks ago where I had to take it apart to get the hair ball. Once out it worked just fine again. So sorry to hear you are having trouble though. We have a cheaper model vac for the upstairs that my daughter HATES! She is saving money to get her own Dyson.
  17. piggy backing ibuprofen and tylenol has always worked best for my children with dropping fevers. you give one med every 4-6 hours then the other med 2 hours into the 4-6 hour time frame. my daughter is similarly sized to you and cannot take tylenol anymore due to using a cgms but with ibuprofen she normally only needs 200 mg every 4-6 hours. However she rarely, rarely ever has fevers. This is mainly for cramps or headaches. :grouphug:
