  1. I figured that but could not help posting it. It was the first thing that came to my mind.:001_smile:
  2. professionally I would recommend that your daughter get a veterinary technician degree instead of an assistant degree. it will hold a lot more status in the field as well as pay better(well if our jobs actually paid okay;)) and she could use it in a larger variety of settings if something fell through with her other plan.
  3. Since it is a single hive, all by itself, never to be socialized amongst other bees howabout the Unsocialized Hiver? ;)

  5. I probably should not tell you about the wholes in my walls and I live in an old farmhouse.
  6. forgot to write up the recipe. 1/2 bag fresh spinach (chopped up) 1 tbsp olive oil mushrooms (chopped up) I used a larger size container 8 eggs 1 c. sour cream 180 grams of Feta cheese (crumbled) a sprinkle of salt grease pie plate and muffin papers preheat oven to 350 F heat oil in pan heat mushrooms and spinach in oil for about 1 minute combine eggs and sour cream(mix well), stir in feta cheese and spinach mixture. add salt. mix well. pour 1/4 c. into 12(greased) cupcake papers and the remaining amount in a (greased)pie plate. cook @ 350 F uncovered for 35 minutes or until set. cool slightly before cutting. if interested with my ingredients it worked out to 2(1.5) points per serving for WW or 1 gram of carbs per serving.
  7. We had for dinner: spinach and feta cheese quiche(crustless) quite yummy and the children ate almost the whole pie plate of it. I did get a serving of it. Very easy to make and I even figured out the weight watchers points for my mother as well. very low in points and carbs.
  8. Yeah, I figured she would. Littles are good at that, aren't they!
  9. She is beautiful! How did the intros go with Cassie?
  10. As Rough collie mentioned I would try for care credit. It def. could be her back and with that she needs the meds, straight rest and harness walking(no collars), no off leash time and no stairs or jumping on/off furniture. She could also have an infected anal sac which could be causing her pain. If so she would need them expressed, possibly flushed, and antibitiotics. Either way she should have a recheck if she is not recovering in 3-5 days.
  11. I have had mine since Jan. and no screen protector. There are no signs of scratches at all. I have the cord that it came with for charging and I did get a hard shell case cover that you can also open and use as a small stand. My daughter sewed me a small bag that i keep it in and put into my purse if taking it with me. I am thinking of getting a car charger for it as I will be doing even more traveling soon.
  12. Ha. We are doing Greek. Rice krispie treat Medusa heads eith gummy worms. Toga wrapping contest for speed. Hercules trials, at least some of them. Breyer horse snd their stable filled with tootsie rolls for cleaning. a mini marathon race. Anyway thoss are just a few of the things we have decided right now
  13. Def. the right idea. wait until the morning so everyone has some rest and can think and react quicker if they hve to.
  14. Introductions outside of HER area first is how we always introduce newbies. walks together and then leashes attached quiet times in the house. the walks together have always made intros go fine with ours when bringing in fosters or newbies. Have safe zones set up for calming down spaces(we use a bathroom and a bedroom and garage). Watch bones/toys for the next few days as sometimes those items can elicit a feeling the need to control. Remind the children to limit their time on the floor with the puppy for a bit until Cassie has settled some with her. At both of their ages Cassie should settle fairly quickly with the pup! But if she is anything like my female she will remind me every time the pup has done something wronbg. Wrong in her eyes of course!;)
  15. I have seen pups safely outgrow them up to about 16 weeks, if they still have it at that time then not so much but a grade 1 is often one they would outgrow.
  16. Extra bags for sick messes(just in case). for accidents and for holding the towels if they get icky. Myself, I normally do 2 of everything for those extra moments that always seem to happen. You could also prefreeze a kong with some yogurt or peanut butter in it for the ride home(depending on the ride time). I do not use any cleaner other than diluted white vinegar and yes I bring some in the car cause accidents happen there as well! For puppies I like a variety of substances for those teething gums. Orka brand, Kong brand and Nylabones make some great choices now. Bully sticks and antlers are great as well but pricey. Well, pricey if they chew the way my dogs do! Also do not forget something new and special for Cassie! She needs a special something for allowing the intruder into her home;). Have fun but your list is pretty good! Of course there will always be something forgotten or something that could have made the trip easier that you slap yourself for afterwards but it sounds like you are pretty set. If you have access to a cooler, some ice cubes and water would be good as well. Just remember not too much while driving or you will really need those clean up towels!
  17. She would probably outgrow it depending on her age right now BUT it is something that I would not take a chance with with a Dogue. You def. made the right choice! If the breeder makes any mention you can tell her to have an echo done on the pup as evidence there should not be any perm. damage but I would still decline!
  18. I know one rough coated collie who is extremely moody when in heat. Barely bleeds but oh crabby! I also know a newfie who is a flirt ONLY when in heat, with anyone or anything though. She makes me laugh. Otherwise it is normally just messy :(.
  19. Don't forget the another huge issue is finding homes for the pups and what happens if the owners cannot/don't want to keep them. Many breeders do this because they love the breed and are trying to improve the breed for either breed standards or health. best of both words is both of those in a breeding pair. I do not know of any breeders who do it to earn money and I know quite a few breeders. They really od it for the love of the critters. Those are the breeders who do not take vacations, who run health tests on all of their breeding stock, who have middle of the night on holiday c-sections. "Most" (of the clients that i know) who have pups for money do no health testing or personality testing, do not really know anything other than I have a boy and you have a girl dog and whammo "lets have pups". There is a lot of stress involved because the birthing process especially of a breed like a boston might not go easy and csections might be needed each time. Studs should be tested as well for certain health considerations. if you plan on keeping both boys and girls then you will need to keep them seperate at certain times of the year and that might mean building seperate enclosures and ensuring that no person leaves a door open for just a moment, etc. And that your fence is high enough to ensure that a neighbors dog does ot jump it to get to your female. Females can be moody and testy when in heat or extra clingy. Males can be downright RUDE when their is a female in heat nearby. Depending on where you live you might need permits for breeding. If you have a certain number of pups per year again you might need permits and sometimes extra insurance, especially if you plan to allow people to come to your home for meeting pups and parents. You should also look into quarentine procedures for how to keep pups healthy when young as well. It can be very rewarding but I might recommend that you contact a local shelter first to see if they have any pregnant females that you could assist with first to see if it is something that you could tolerate. Also I would contact your local breed/training club and start talking with some of the locals. Finding a great mentor would be a big help for you!
