I am so glad that you posted this!! I am in NE FLA, and I too am guilty. I usually leave the change as a tip. I will definitely be tipping them more now. I had no idea that they only made $5/hr. I honestly think they should have a sign up, maybe saying tips are appreciated. Thanks for sharing the info!!

First, I agree, the owner was way out of line! He/she just wants to make that $$. You are the only person who really knows your child. God created each child with their own unique personality. My dd (5) still sleeps with me, as did all my children, and all of them are pretty outgoing kids. So, it is not the co-sleeping. She will open up in her own time. I would try different activities with her. Soccer, swimming, etc..... She may find something that she loves and begin to overcome her fears. You are a great mom! I can feel the love you have for her through your words! This too shall pass....... :grouphug:

We have had 3 over the last 10 years. The ring seems to dry rot after a while. However, we are in Florida and it is HOT for a long time. That is the only problem we have ever had with them.We love ours!!!

Just wanted to share that Netflix now has The Electric Company available for streaming. My daughter LOVES it!! She is begging to watch everyday. It is not "our" Electric Company, it is definitely modern, but very cute. I am very impressed with how much she is learning and retaining from the show!

Good for you for going despite your anxiety. My mom has not been here to visit since my dad died 12 yrs ago. They use to drive. She WILL NOT fly. She hasn't seen my son in 7 or 8 years. He will be 19 this month.

This year for K, we did a short 10 - 15 min "carpet time". We went over the calendar, practice phone #, address, skip counted and a few other things. Then I did let her run and dance for just a couple minutes to get the wiggles out. Sometimes, I would let her watch an episode of a LeapFrog video or Electric Company then on to schoolwork. =)

He is absolutely precious and adorable!!!

All of my children have gone to bed later than the norm. 10 or so usually. I have very healthy kids. It is years in between doctor visits for all of them. So, I do not think an early bed time=healthy. They do however, get plenty of sleep. They do not wake up until 9 or so. It just works for our family. =)

Just food for thought. My husband works with a guy that has tattoos fully covering his arms. We live in Florida and he works outside. He has to wear long sleeve shirts ALL SUMMER LONG. Yes, he regrets them. Personally, I do not like them. However, I do not have anything against small tattoos that can be easily covered up.

We have never really had a schedule over here. My 5 yr old is usually in bed at about 10-10:30. She usually sleeps until about 9. It works for us.

The missionary stories are my daughter's favorite books in the Sonlight packages. Just curious what it is you do not like about them?

We are using: Bible- Child Training Bible Math- CLE 1 and Singapore 1A & 1B L/A- FLL, WWE 1, CLE L/A 1, ETC (I rotate these) Language- French Reading- OPGTR, Abeka Readers History/Science- Trailguide: Paths of Settlement Geography- Evan Moore 1st grade Art- The Usborne book of art ideas & some art study Lots and Lots of literature We do not do everything everyday, I switch things around to keep it interesting.

I would love to see what others are using this year.
