  1. I would like to lose 10-15 pounds. I've been bouncing around the same 2-3 pounds for two months now and I'm super frustrated. I'm thinking about trying weight watchers again, that and calorie counting are the only things that have worked Ina sustainable way for me. On the upside I'm about as fit as I've ever been, I spin, run, do weights, and HIIT. So it helps me not feel so bad. I'm so tired of the yo yo game, I have a 20 pound spread that I seem to go to each end at least once every year.
  2. I would buy them. I have strange feet with multiple surgeries and breaks on each, shoes are not an item I skimp on.
  3. The military base where my husband is stationed has put lures in parks and some units are using Pokemon Go to do their physical training. One of the Smitsonian museums is having a teen night on Friday I think, with art and Pokemon Go. DS13 and I walked our neighborhood last night catching Pokemon and going to the stops near us, we chatted about the teams, life, and the watched the fireflies, it was wonderful. â¤ï¸ The other day I was in his adorable little historic town and we went into the local book store, they were hosting a where's Waldo with all the local shops, so we got the paper and went into 17 stores looking for Waldo, dd10 and ds3 were super into it, ds13 was playing Pokemon and helping look for Waldo. Everyone had a great time and there was tons of laughing and talking and zero complaining. The Waldo thing is EXACTLY the same, but I cannot imagine anyone condemning it. I cannot see for the life of me how any of this could be bad, obviously people need to pay attention to their surroundings, but otherwise, play on.
  4. I cannot stand one pieces, I have a long torso and they hurt me. I don't have the perfect body by any stretch, in my own pool I wear a long sleeve rash guard and boy shorts, which are far more coverage than a one-piece but I don't want all my arm tattoos to fade. ;) However in public swimming areas I'll wear a tankini or bikini depending on my mood and my weight, which seems to fluctuate quite a bit. The bathroom issue is also relevant too.
  5. I go back and forth on this, but I have recently come to the conclusion that I just can't worry about everything, I buy local when I can, organic sometimes but I have a budget and time constraints. We eat pretty healthy and that has to be good enough. Like many others, the ethics of the industry bigger me much more than the health aspect.
  6. We haven't done much formally but this last school year we did Junior Acheivement BizTown, it was 5 or 6 classes and culminated with a day at the BizTown center where they had to be citizens working and spending money in a town. They learned a lot and loved it. You don't mention your kids' ages but it may be worth looking into.
  7. I make ordinary cappuccinos with good Italian coffee when I'm indulging. During the fall though I will make a very decadent pumpkin spice coffee drink that is better than anything I've ever had in a cafe, it even has real pumpkin in it. But I'm pretty plain Jane when it comes to my daily coffee, good coffee, drip or French press, and half and half. I don't generally like sweetened coffee, so no sugar or syrups, except in the pumpkin one.
  8. I love mine, I probably use it 2-3 times a week. Our favorites are: Carnitas Mongolian beef Vietnamese noodle soup (pho) Thai lemongrass soup It does a fantastic stock, much better than when I do the long, slow method.
  9. I went through basic training and had to fire an M-16, I had handled a few weapons beforehand, as my stepdad and mom were avid hunters. I have never taken a civilian course. Ds is showing interest in hunting, he will be taking a hunters safety course and whatever else is necessary and/or wise. I am not anti-gun at all, and if ds gets into hunting I will fully support it but we won't have guns around for other purposes, I'm even what most would consider very liberal. :)
  10. Train - we love Hey Soul Sister, Save Me San Francisco, Meet Virginia, pretty much all of their stuff, we are seeing them in concert for the third time next month, and we used a few of their songs in our wedding. I LOVE Andy Grammer, he is front lining for the concert next month and I cannot wait. Definitely love some of the other suggestions.
  11. Reverting is definitely a possibility. My dd was fully trained day and night at about 2, we had some major life upheavals at 4 and she nearly reverted completely, then quickly re-trained for day, but continued wetting at night until she was like 9, we tried everything, including doctors and ruling out other issues. It was rough.
  12. My 3.5 year old is the same, he doesn't like to be poopy but doesn't care at all about being wet. We are on day 2 of potty boot camp. At naps he gets a diaper and yesterday he woke up and immediately pooped in it, but we ensured that didn't happen today. He's been ok about peeing but refusing to poop in the potty and he finally did it today. We have blocked off 5 days for this boot camp, I'm hoping it works, so far so good. He's completely naked or just a tshirt during all waking times. He does not pee or poop in random places but would go if he had on underwear. ETA- he has shown all the signs of readiness, dry over night and naps, willing to sit on potty, pee in potty, knows and tells us during or immediately after poops, etc. Potty readiness cannot be forced.
  13. We have this set and love it, we do not put it in the dishwasher and dh regularly sharpens them. We used a 20% off coupon to buy them too, so they were probably under $300. I think we are on our fifth year owning them and they show no signs of wear, breaking, or needing to be replaced at this point. http://www.bedbathandbeyond.com/store/product/calphalon-reg-katana-series-trade-14-piece-cutlery-knife-block-set/1017326198?Keyword=Calphalon+knives
  14. That is strange, it would bother me. A little humming while one works is one thing but loud singing and shaking... Nope.
  15. People who say money isn't important generally haven't suffered much from a lack of it. Having bordered on homelessness a couple times in my life and applying for food stamps once tells a very different story about the importance of money. It absolutely is important and it also feels very good to earn some of it.
  16. I adore my Odyssey but I don't know that the price would be right for you. I hate driving large vehicles and SUVs and the Odyssey doesn't feel like that at all. It feels like a car to me, and it's pretty easy to park. I look forward to downgrading eventually but it is absolutely perfect for us now.
  17. :grouphug: I have a long way to go, but I've been feeling the same way. I'm in school full time and close to my BA, hopefully I'll do grad school next year. I'm a planner, so even though I feel this way sometimes, I have a plan that I'm actively working toward and it helps a lot. It's the main reason I started school again, because I need to be working and looking forward to something. Maybe a vision board or some journaling to get your mind thinking about what you do want next and how you can make it happen.
  18. I live in sleeveless anything and everything, I hate the feeling of anything on my arms, but when I need to cover up I wear a denim jacket, it usually goes very well with most of my dresses. It would depend on the formality of the wedding, but if it's not super formal it may work.
  19. We usually try to do something outdoorsy or fun with the kids. Then we might come home, swim, and grill. Other times I might make a fancy dinner. The kids talk to their friends online or they have friends over and play video games while I read or come to these boards. I'm not a busy type, I know people who can run constantly but that's just not me. I love to see new things so we do that often, but I stay away from overscheduling.
  20. I ate sweet potatoes for carbs, but now you can have regular potatoes too. I love Brussels sprouts and kale chips. When I do it I just basically follow the meal template or modify some of my own existing recipes.

  22. I've had great luck on a huge used curriculum Facebook page. I actually did that last weekend and made over $350 in like 10 hours.
  23. I had ds in 2003 and worked from home until dd was born in 2005, things gradually got worse with xh and I needed a plan, so I joined the military. I ended up leaving him shortly after basic training. So I worked full time plus some from the time they were 1 and 3 until they were 5 and 7. I had them in daycare and/or school from then until midway through 2nd and 4th grade. Other than going through basic training and tech school, being away from during the day's didn't bother me much at all. I love being with them now, and I love not having to send the little one to daycare but I do really miss working sometimes.
