  1. I realize this is probably a JAWM, but I don’t think anything she said is out of line (though it is worded poorly). It’s your responsibility to follow up and get group info if you opt out of the group’s regular communication method.
  2. Evereve Trendsend is another that Facebook has recommended to me.
  3. In our county, clubs are essentially penalized when ghost members join but don’t participate, as the total number of club members enrolled is used to determine percentage-based awards and contributions for completing various activities as a club.
  4. If they don’t really participate or contribute anything to the club, how would it be considered “completing†anything even if you did re-enroll?
  5. It’s just one mouse at this point, though, so why would an exterminator be needed? Mousetraps are cheap and rather effective in my experience.
  6. Unless it says otherwise in the lease, he should just set the traps and toss the food.
  7. Paras make minimum wage or only slightly more than that in our area.
  8. This is an excellent point, and I agree that it’s time to at least consider creating a new tradition or dramatically scaling back your hosting commitment.
  9. That’s a tough decision, but I’d be inclined to encourage her to stay in the good house snd sell the other one.
  10. I also feel like I’m missing something with regard to why everyone attending the service is so important to you. I do think it was rude of her to get in such a snit over it, but I don’t agree with your position—at least if I understand correctly—that it’s the primary or even the whole point of getting together with family at Christmas time.
  11. If your personal preference for one or the other makes you unwilling to believe or accept a genuine apology/sorry because it’s the “wrong†phrasing in your opinion, I think you have a bigger problem.
  12. I’ve never consciously noticed any difference. I hear/see “I’m sorry†more often, though.
  13. I make chili regularly in mine but prefer to brown hamburger meat in a separate skillet. The recipe I use also calls for more liquid than a stovetop one would. I adjust ingredients when following recipes for my IP, but I don’t mess with the recommended liquid amounts.
  14. I would put them away out of sight if you can’t bear to get rid of them and then work on changing your attitude about clothing. It’s meant to be replaced over time, not kept indefinitely. Replacing old clothes with newer ones is not wasteful or extravagant; it’s normal and expected.
  15. I’m not sure how to answer, as it depends so much on personal taste. I love some flavors (including herbal teas and infusions that aren’t technically tea because they aren’t made from tea leaves) but strongly dislike others. My current favorite is Lady Grey. Oh! If you’re ever near Boulder, CO, take the Celestial Seasonings tour and try everything in the sampling area. The whole experience made me want to drink more tea. Another cool experience was being invited to enjoy a tea ceremony with an acquaintance from China. It was lovely, and so was the tea. The spicy, chai-like tea (cardamom?) I was served at an Eid gathering once was amazing. Again, the experience sharing the drink with others was a big part of the overall enjoyment. I don’t do anything fancy when I make it at home or work, but I never use the microwave. I add sugar and milk sometimes.
  16. This. It's far from being universal etiquette.
  17. You're just assuming it's the former and not the latter, though.
  18. Appeal it in writing along with any documentation that supports your case.
  19. I often omit periods from texts if I’m not writing multiple sentences because they aren’t needed, but thinking it’s rude to use them? That’s just dumb.
  20. How frustrating. I’d consider them gone and move on. I’ve had at least that many books borrowed individually or in a set and never returned. (If I count all the books in the mixed sets of Bob Books I loaned to someone, it would be 30+.) I no longer loan books to anyone. If I pass one along to anyone now, I consider it a donation.
  21. Maybe I’m visualizing this wrong, but I don’t understand why you’re so worried another car will hit her. Is it a one-lane road or something? Never mind. Just saw the update.
