I know several people who have packages delivered at work or to a friend in town because it isn’t possible for whatever reason to have things delivered to their farm/country house. Would that be an option?
My sister did tell our mom about her rape, but it was so obvious that something terrible had happened that she couldn’t really have hidden it. I think Mom guessed that it was some kind of assault and she broke down, then started talking.

I think your assessment of the situation is incredibly cynical. I am not sure where you got the idea he would have charged them if she hadn’t agreed to let him adopt the baby or where the coercion occurred.
I can't fathom ever staying in a stranger's house when they would not be staying up to let me in and I couldn't even meet them before crashing in their guest room. Maybe he thought the situation was too awkward, but he should have told you regardless of the reason his plans changed.
Honestly, I don't really care what products people refer to as milk. Even though I do not see them as equivalent products, I am not in favor of banning the use of the term milk for non-dairy products.
