  1. SWB has said that her mom, at the beginning of quiet time, would sprawl out on the couch with chocolate. By the end of quiet time she was sitting up and ready to go. So I try to incorporate all the pieces - quiet time, sprawling, AND chocolate. :D
  2. Can you ask them about the reimbursement? Do they know you bought the tickets?
  3. This makes me want to cry. Can I charge them into my health insurance as migraine prevention???? :crying:
  4. Glad to hear it is not just me. Apple seeds are a great idea! I get that - but then why not draw a watermelon plant? Or just draw the tree seed to begin with. It is an art program, nothing states the need to glue a specific seed. :001_huh:
  5. They give the option of pumpkin seeds. :smilielol5:
  6. Okay, so I purchased the Atelier Art program through HSBC. I got Level 3. The first lesson requires watermelon seeds. According to the written materials the kids are going to paste the seeds on the paper and then draw roots below and a tree above. Can you guess my issue??? Trees do not grow from watermelon seeds. The idea of this is driving me crazy. I mean I know that the easy thing would be to go collect acorns. Or to say "Hey kids, trees don't grown from watermelon seeds. See that in the backyard? That is a watermelon plant." But it still bothers me. It is like all those "she says it is secular but she is a YEer, so maybe some will sneak in and I won't notice" arguments. Like what else is ahead if we start with trees growing out of watermelon seeds??? I haven't watched the video yet. Will that make me feel better?
  7. No. When I was 11 I was involved in a foreign exchange that went very, very wrong. Not the same thing as a mission trip, but I don't think I could ignore my experience.
  8. There are lots of things that she could bake the night before. Then everyone could eat when they are ready. Although if she owned a bakery she would likely be getting up at 4 am. So there is that option too.
  9. We would be happy to read the book and set up a Skype book club!
  10. Okay the pictures are awful. But looking at the actual items on the site, they are all more conservative than what is in my local Target.
  11. Now, now, let's not be too hasty. This part seems..... like a fabulous idea.
  12. Have you tried walking around the house shaking the dry food container? I have been sure that we lost a cat, only to offer food and find that the cat was hidden.
  13. Teach him to pun. Easier to succeed, and possibly very funny.
  14. There are photographers that will come to the hospital and take family photos so that they have something to remember the baby. The organization is Now I Lay Me Down to Sleep. http://www.nowilaymedowntosleep.org/ :grouphug:
  15. Tried to have a homebirth with my third. All three born at a birth center connected to a hospital. No drugs.
  16. Why does it list the retail price of prints as $30? On the Atelier site I am seeing a price of $25. I am planning to purchase, but am having a hard time choking down that $12 shipping. Amazon Prime has totally ruined me.
  17. We bought a great house in a relatively painless short sale. I think it depends on how many banks (or loans) are involved, how much the sale is short, who is assigned to the case etc....
  18. I pronounced it like "tighty" because I did not want my kids running around innocently saying titty. My kids loved A&S, I found it annoying to read aloud. My son figured out that it is a whole series and insisted on starting Swallowdale. That book is sapping my will to live. :glare:
  19. We just got this and LOVE it : http://www.amazon.com/Remmington-DT-800-Remington-Tangle-Tamer/dp/B000JI9JYQ/ref=sr_1_1?s=beauty&ie=UTF8&qid=1311287200&sr=1-1
